Old Morning's Dawn is amazing, definitely give it a spin. I haven't listened to With Doom We Come though, but considering how consistent Summoning is, it's probably pretty good.

Summoning are so awesome! Strangely my fave is Old Mournings Dawn 🤣 know it’s most people’s least fave but I listen to it far more than the others.

I strongly agree with Old Mornings Dawn being in the top of your favorites. Even if it's not my favorite album from Summoning but it's definitely in my big 3, I cannot describe how beautiful The White Tower is. I have never heard any song like it. I remember I had days when I'd listen only to this album all day long, and breaking the repeat button on The White Tower, Caradhras, The Wandering Fire and Earthshine. I can't express how much I love both this album and this band. I don't think Summoning has any bad songs.

8 - Lugburz 7 - With Doom We Come 6 - Minus Morgul 5 - Dol Goldur 4 - Old Morning’s Dawn 3 - Oath bound 2 - Stronghold 1 - Let Mortal Heroes Sing Your Fame LMHSYF with its symphonic guitars has its own unique sound. I can’t think of any band including Summoning that has done anything like it since.

I don't agree with the order you put every single album in, but you definitely put the very best one on top! Stronghold is the best summoning album without a doubt hands down 100000%

Oath Bound is my personal favorite. Beleriand is underrated, to me it's better than Land of the Dead.

Good list man, my list would be different though. I'm not keen on the production of the two newest ones and my favorite Summoning album is Let Mortal Heroes Sing Your Fame although From Minas Morgul to Oath Bound is really a matter of mood for me.

For me its a tie between Mortal Heroes, Dol Guldur and Stronghold as the best one. After that Minas Morgul > Oath Bound > Old Mornings Dawn > Lugburz. The EP's are somewhere in the middle.

Yeah, Summoning, the band has a fantastic discography. Must agree that „Old Mornings Dawn“ is a super album but not my absolute favourite because it‘s a bit too folky, love their sound more darkened. Best album in my opinion is „Oath bound“. Instead of My Top Albums here comes my list of their best songs: 1) Over Old Hills 2) A distant flame before the sun 3) Land of the dead 4) Marching homewards 5) The mountain King‘s return

Actually despite the background what you explained in Old Mornings Dawn is how Summoning can derive different bases to their sound. Synth (early video game vibes, if you're reading this check out Godkiller - The End Of The World), epic and symphonic (Mortal Heroes), dungeon synth (Stronghold), darkwave and folk. You hit it also when you mentioned funeral doom as I see them having a similar formula.

One does not simply rank summoning albums. ;) They're all amazing, and one of my favorite bands of all time. If I absolutely HAD to rank them: 8 - Old Mornings Dawn 7 - Stronghold 6 - Let Mortal Heroes Sing Your Fame 5 - Lugburz 4 - With Doom We Come 3 - Minas Morgul 2 - Dol Goldur 1 - Oath Bound I love each and every album though almost equally, this is just my current mood. Except the first 3, I do prefer those over all the others but damn are they all so close together.

Good for the most part, although I can't say I'd put Old Mornings Dawn that high. It's good, but for me it's not that amazing. Others surpass it. Here's my ranking, which has 9 pieces because Nightshade Forests is essential; at 33 minutes it's almost an album anyway. It's a very hard ranking to do, I love most of their material. 9) Lugburz - enjoyable but the sound wasn't fully fleshed out yet. 8) With Doom we Come 7) Old Mornings Dawn - very enjoyable but simply not as good as the older ones. I do like the folkier side to it a lot! 6) Let Mortal Heroes Sing your Fame 5) Dol Guldur 4) Nightshade Forests - an essential acquisition, don't overlook this. 3) Minas Morgul 2) Oath Bound - such a gorgeous album; also get the Lost Tales EP as it has a similar sound. 1) Stronghold - indeed the best album, an absolute masterpiece.
