I know i should nebmver doubt this bloke, but when i saw the video of what the car was like 1 or 2 weeks ago i thought this didn't have a chance to have it running and driving to cruise around summernats. Not only is it finished and cruising around summernats, but its also bloody painted as well. Talk about mission impossible. You're an absolute machine Jay. Good stuff

Massive Congrats to the Low Standard Crew and everyone who chipped in to build this Epic VL!! I've been dreaming of seeing a Japanese style VL for the last 10yrs since following Bosozoku Kayusha Dajiban, I had to draw my own but seeing the main man with the vision out of South Australia to deliver the goods I really love the finished product, which is what myself and many have said it's a massive breath of fresh air from the RB30,V8 20"wheels mainstream. Epic build lads CHEERS!!

That's the same colour as my VL Commodore which my brother & I painted,it looked that good 20 years ago but now it needs redoing since it sat outside. We spent NYE prepping & painting the engine bay 20 years ago then we bolted the Nissan RB30DE engine that I built for it that night meaning by the break of dawn we had the silky smooth 24 valve Nissan 6 purring on New years morning of 2004. We test drove it without the bonnet fitted then I found out that the ECU was faulty, it' wouldn't rev past 2k,it was fouling spark plugs then the Nissan R33 Skyline GTS ECU set a code 13 for the mass airflow sensor,it was a faulty ECU,not a faulty mass airflow sensor or anything that I did wrong with the wiring. I ran it with a Nissan R32 RB20DET ECU for a bit until the $300 AUD R33 Skylines RB25DE ECU arrived. I did some slight tweaks to the valve timing like I advanced the valve timing by 1 today tooth to get it to idle a bit smoother (it ran like a beauty) & I retarded the camshaft timing by 1 tooth to fix a pinging issue with that I was having with the engine. I am wondering if I should run that engine with a Haltec ECU or fit a different motor like a Holden Alloytec V6 engine out of a VE Commodore or something . Note that I fitted VL Commodore Berlina/Calais tail lights which are kind of a bit tinted, they just looked better than the SL/Executive tail lights !
