Thanks dude, must admit it’s pretty sweet to be able to have some fish back in the garden for summer again, especially a community pond and it’s always interesting to come out in the morning and look for fry…. Though so far no joy! Thanks for taking the time to comment ☺️

Marcus and Anne Marie🙂 I would probly try my black mollies , or some other type of livebearers. I tried my convict cichlids last year, but the temps were so hot during the day, and quite chilly at night, I brought them back inside, I didn’t lose any as they are nearly invincible! But the current tub is much too small next summer I plan to have at minimum 100 gallon stock tank, that should keep the changes in temps gradual, as opposed going from 75f to 90++ then down in the 60s. Marcus and Anne Marie thank you again my mate🙂👍🏻💯⭐️

Another great video...the longfin white clouds are simply stunning. It's such an underrated fish. Sad news one of my roseline sharks died today. It was one of the smaller one and never really schooled with the others and it's coloring seemed off ever since I got them. I have 4 more coming this week but these are expensive losses. The others seem really happy and active though...who knows

Thanks bud, bit of an old video now, cant wait for this year with all the rice fish ponds we built last Autumn :) That's a real shame about your barbs, its not well known but Roseline sharks are very prone to sudden heart attacks during or after stressful experiences. Example we once traveled for miles to pick some up from a guy who wanted to sell his fully grown ones and once we were driving home I took a look in the bag and one literally died Infront of my eyes then and there, was fine then freaked and died! This then happened again at a local shop on the way home it was dead on getting home (fine in the tank). Had a few deliveries of them over the year and always one belly up, such a shame they are really hardy once established for a few weeks!

  • @Aquadiction

Hi Mark, I mean that's pretty much all we do, but then the tubs are 450lt so we have a lot of margin for error, I guess it depends how big the tub is and how many fish you are going to put in there! I mean you could just squeeze out a filter in thereto kick it all off and all the beneficial bacteria will take hold in the substrate. This is the fist year we have used substrate TBH and we have never had a problem, never use filters or air pumps in the ponds either and haven't had a problem. Tell me how big the tubs are and how many fish will be going in and ill have a better idea m8!

Last year we brought them in around mid October and they were fine but we will probably pull in the community nano fish mid September as they are as cold water tolerant as endlers! Strange thing is though there is so much weed and live food but zero spawning going on! At least from what we can see, maybe we will have a surprise when we pull them

Thanks for the question. Funny enough, they now fathers of our entire colony (300-400 strong right now), and the following generations have shown a marked improvement thanks to select breeding! These are some of the descendants in this video kzread.info/dash/bejne/oqiWzpKHhbyplM4.html We will do another summer tubbing video shortly and put the Staeck Endlers outside but pick out the two/three best males again and repeat the process we did last year to see if we can improve the line more. :)

today is a relatively sad day in my fishroom. my 6.5 gallon planted tank has an ich infestation due to my pleco fry carrying it into the tank somehow and my green neons and endler recieved the brunt of the parasites due to me not noticing bc of their reclusive nature meaning that one green neon has already passed and 2 or 3 are not looking in the greatest condition but hopefully they pull through with some tlc. i had to isolate them to a different tank and will spend the next few days catching out the rest of them as i have a big colony of blue dream shrimps

  • @Aquadiction

Wow ich used to give me cold shivers, wiped out so many of my tanks in the past as treatments never seemed to work. How did you get it? NEVER had an outbreak unless buying new fish and that's not been as often as it used to be but API® WHITE SPOT CURE clears that up for us almost straight away. If you need some new endlers just give us a shout once you have cleared the infection buddy and we can sort you out! (or sooner if they are going in a different aquarium)

@@Aquadiction the tank which the pleco fry were previously in before being transferred had an ich issue a good while before they were born and that got resolved weeks ago but i dont know how they managed to catch it. alternatively it could have already been there as when i was catching them out the green neons had a severe white spot case which could have been there for weeks. even stranger is the fact that my pygmy cories seem completely fine as do all but a few pleco fry. 13 hours later and all but 1 green neon have passed as did the endler. my betta in the tank opposite also caught a mild case but nothing untreatable. currently treating with waterlife protozin which has worked on ich in the past as well as some aquarium salt which i have lying around
