SUMMER SILVER WITH PHIL X!! 1955 Gretsch 6129 Silver Jet 01134

Музыка

www.frettedamericana.com/grets...
This featherweight 13 1/4-inch-wide guitar weighs just 6.60 lbs. and has a nice, fat nut width of over 1 11/16 inches and a scale length of 24 1/2 inches. Chambered mahogany body, pressed arched top with silver sparkle plastic laminate, one-piece mahogany neck with a wonderful fat profile. Bound Brazilian rosewood fretboard with 22 medium-thin frets and inlaid pearloid block position markers. Two single-coil DeArmond Dynasonic pickups with outputs of 3.44k and 3.39k. Black Melita Synchro-Sonic bridge with chrome saddles on ebony base and chrome cut-out "G-hole flat" tailpiece. This is one of the earliest Silver Jets, with the serial number "15064" printed on a label inside the control cavity with the model number "6129." The serial number is also engraved on the outside of the control cavity cover. The plastic 'rings' (between the pickups and the body) have been replaced due to the quite common 'disintegration' of the original tortoiseshell material. Apart from a few very minor surface marks on the back and edges and a small area of discoloration on the silver sparkle top just by the bass-side of the neck pickup, this is an exceptionally clean and totally original example. The neck has been re-fretted (with the original gauge fret-wire) so expertly that it is almost impossible to tell. A superb example of a beautiful piece of guitar history. Housed in the original two-tone gray hardshell case with maroon plush lining (9.00).

    The flat five is called the tritone, and it was used a lot in impressionism music, and it's probably most popular from the musical West Side Story, where Bernstein bases pretty much the entire musical off of the tritone (think Maria.) :) you asked, I guess!

    That's an awesome guitar. I like trying to play metal on guitars that don't look like metal guitars. totally serious. No sarcasm intended. I would totally like to try it on this guitar. Like the Yamaha SB doesn't look like a metal guitar, but you can get a really heavy sound from it.

    Have you seen that shit Social Distorion does where one guitar's regular and the other one's got a capo on the 2nd fret? I'm trying to figure out why that sounds so heavy. I tried it playing "Dear Lover". It sounds pretty heavy still with the capo on.

    hmmm yeh mines a les paul though so it has humbuckers. Also, i have an epiphone sg which doesn't have this problem even though it's played in the same room through the same amp. ;/

  • @iagobroxado
    @iagobroxado12 жыл бұрын

    You get a certain amount of buzz from any real single-coil equipped guitar through any amp (degrees will also vary depending on a number of factors), but when it gets to the point of whistling like that it can be more annoying. A friend of mine has a 70's Les Paul copy (one of those "lawsuit" ones) and even though it has humbuckers it whistles (bad feedback) when near a loud amp - I think it's due to unppoted pickups.

  • @iagobroxado

    I think your Les Paul's pickups are not as wax-potted as the SG's. Another possibility would be something wrong with the electronics or bad soldering.

    @permian11 Slipknot downtunes and they have very few songs with imaginitive guitar-work. Paul Gilbert doesn't and he's great. In example, downtuning seems to just get people stuck in the open note loop.

    whenever phil takes his hands off the strings, there's a buzzing sound from the amp. I'm currently suffering this at home with my new les paul. Everytime i google this issue (amp buzzes unless i touch the strings) everyone says its a grounding issue, but yet Phil seems to have this in many videos... BASICALLY, is this a genuine problem or is it just an undeniable guitar-thing?
