Fun fact you probably already knew: Jimmy played the "Stairway To Heaven" solo not on the 'Les Paul he was known to primarily use, but on the Fender Telecaster Jeff Beck as a gift.

The tele's going through this fad where every garage guitar player soaks it with gobs of distortion playing everything from IRON MAN to some other crap! Case in point JOHN 5 -- IT'S CHILD ABUSE!!! IT'S CHILD ABUSE!!! 1962 BIGHEAD STRAT!

STRIPED, yes. STRYPER, no. No one called it a “Stryper” guitar. STRYPER was, and still is, a Christian metal/hard rock band.

hello phil fretamerica,I am thrilled about this videoclip.I know george had two 6122 models.and maybe a 3rd,,,,i was takeing my first music lesson,in oct64,after i signed in I was waiting to meet my teacher,I heard someone playing a guitar,it was the country 6122,its the first time I saw a guitar up-close,I was say 2-3 feet in front,I saw the grover imperial gears ,the pickguard had the gretech name only, the chet singature was put on later in the 60s,dont know when, after my lesson,,it was above my room ,in plastic, with the gretech logo, brand new,it was semi gloss black,I never did see it again, and I never asked why,in my gretech catalog from 68-69,its walnut brown and the photo seem not acuerate, but at the music store ,with the single flourecent buld ,the walnut color is there, they did make the nashville,6120 in black, and the 6122,12 string version in black,in the 60s ,the lighting in the tv studios was low because it was B&W TV..and the colors of instruments looked off,,,after gretech was sold to the baldwin corp,I read all the blueprints, drawings, documents were not preserved,so no info is available, what a sad fact if its true,,even the walnut model that george played looked black, because the angle cancles and filteres out the brown,,and it appears black, but I have a magazine where its faceing down, the pad is black, and the neck is black, and its a flash that is always daylight.so george may have had a third guitar, whats you view on this, thanks ,dan diorio,,,,
