Whenever CS machetes go on sale I stock up. They are great gifts. Everybody I know now has a CS machete of some type pre-positioned by me in their house and car. Another great thing about buying the CS machetes when they go on sale is that it provides a blank “steel canvas” to experiment with. A few years ago the old style heavy machete was on close-out. I think I bought 15. With a plasma cutter and angle grinder I made all kinds of crazy blade shapes and profiles for specialized tasks and to experiment.

@Sledge Patrick I can imagine, that everything seen in this film, I could do with my 18" Tramontina machete. Some of it easier, since the blade is longer. Lowes $19.98(no shipping fees). Plus the steel is 1070 HC, while the Cold Steel is 1055 HC. One made in Brazil and used by people in Brazil.

@@gregzeigler3850 yeah you sure can. I beat the absolute fuck out of mine for over a year and it never broke despite having a thin light weight blade. 1075 steel is perfect for a sword. It also takes a razor edge and holds it well.

I have bought several of these Tanto machetes, they are great. I keep buying more because friends keep seeing it and wanting either this one or the bowie machete, so I gift it to them. It is a "do it all" blade, although, not really a specialists at anything, if you take this knife out in the desert you can get done any task that needs to be done. Personally, I change the edge and give it a higher rounded convex grind, I wrap the handle in hockey stick tape for better traction, I sand the handle on the sides to give it a more oval shape, and I put extra paracord with a small kit pouch around the sheath. You can keep a lighter, a ceramic rod, or something similar on it. Some other improvements that would be cool would be a sharp 90 degree spine, sharpened clip tip just at the point and if they put the kraton wrap over the polymer like on their tanto/outdoors man lite knife and kept the handle shape a little more oval. Overall, it is a great knife, but even better if you put some extra effort into it to customize it the way you want, and for 20 bucks

I own 2 Tramontina Machetes made in Brazil, one is new and unused, about $20 at Home Depot one is about 50 years old and hard to tell the difference. Both will cut and kill. There are Machetes and there are imitations so if you need a Machete, just buy a Machete

I love how you advertise your machete as razor sharp but when I got my last 5 machetes from you they all has terrible burrs and edges thicker than axe edges lol but I can't really expect something that's less than $20 to be razor sharp. But just...how you advertise can be misleading to some is all I'm saying.

Everything you buy from CS is worth it. Wow.... When you spend $200 on a blade from CS, you'll know you have more weapon than $200 worth elsewhere. Fact!
