I love the low volume fabrics also. Want to make all of them!! So much to sew... Sew little time. Have a great Mothers Day everyone.

The quilts are beautiful! Thanks for showing them and talking about each one. I usually use a bolder binding, but I like the idea of using the same binding as the border.

What a treat! I have seen Susan’s book on a few other KZread channels and have been intrigued by this book. But seeing your trunk show has really sold me. I love your critique and insight of these scrappy quilts. Scrap quilts are my love. Thanks so much for sharing!

These quilts are all gorgeous! Patriotic quilts are my favorites, and Susan’s choices of fabrics are positively inspiring! She is so talented! Thank you for this wonderful trunk show and for pointing out all the unique little details that make these quilts super special and unusual. You truly have a gift for noticing those lovely surprises and explaining them to the rest of us! I can understand why you were chosen to showcase the quilts in Susan’s new book for us! 🥰

I often use the same fabric for the binding. I cut the border fabric lengthwise so there aren't any seams, then cut the 2 1/2" strips while I'm doing that so not so many seams in the binding. Also that saves needing another fabric to bind with. I'm always making the quilt much larger than the pattern so I usually have several borders going on. These quilts are all beautiful!

Listener question-thanks so much for all of your hard work-I know these extra videos between the every other week video and podcast are extra work but I look forward to them and can’t wait to see all of the beautiful quilts you share with us. Do you have any tips on how to center a backing that may have blocks or designs? I have tried that a few times but I am never satisfied. I would appreciate any ideas. Again thank you and Chelsie for being so inspirational and sharing your work with us!

Hi Sherri! Those quilts are just beautiful! I've been hesitant in ordering the book, but seeing them in person & up close, I may have to!! Like you said, the cover quilt could be done with each star scrappy or even reds & greens for a Christmas time quilt 😊😊 Sometimes I have a hard time imagining doing a quilt in a different colorway when I see it done one way. Thanks for sharing!

Sherri, This was a great trunk show! I L❤VE red, white, and blue anything. I appreciated your ideas for different color ways for the first quilt. Question: I keep seeing that quilt on the ladder in the back left and I don’t remember you and/or Chelsi talking about. I miss it somehow:( What pattern, fabrics, and who made it? It’s gorgeous 😍Thank you! Christie from Washington state

By the way, ai forgot to mention that I bought the book “Laundry Love” after I listened to the audiobook from my library. Patric reads his audiobook; I loved it! Great recommendation! I also listened to the audiobook book “Big Magic” by Elizabeth Gilbert for free from my library. Thank you SO much for the recommendation for this book! The timing of it couldn’t have been better. I am “in between” careers at age 51 after I was forced to leave a job of 14 when I asked to reduce my hours from full time to part time so that I could fulfill a lifelong dream of mine of providing daycare for my newborn granddaughter. It was a toxic work environment because of one person in charge. I left. I provided full time daycare for my two granddaughters for 3 years until they moved out of state. It’s been a year now and I now ponder what to do for/with my work “life” for the remainder of my working years. The thought of another toxic boss has been debilitating. This book has helped me “see the light” that I should follow my gut and do what I want to do in life. I’ve always wanted to something with fabric, sewing, and designing. I’m going to figure it out. I have another huge personal hurdle to complete first. Thank you for two great book recommendations, your KZread podcast, your other KZread videos, your blog, and for having a friendly and supportive family that surrounds each other ❤
