    November - Fireworks - Guy Fawkes Night. Liked the video, shame about the graffiti, some people have no respect for anything. It is wet and cold here in Belfast, so you are very brave venturing out in this weather to go camping.

    Great video. Enjoyed it. Loved the fireworks. This is the best time to camp for me. Stealth camping is a pain in the summer because too many people are active until 9.00 or 10.00 pm. In autumn and winter you can have camp up at 5.00, make a fire and nobody will come along. Its just far more relaxed for the evening. Cheers.

    Yeah, Stevie. I did a riverside hammock camp on an offshoot of the River Wey, near Shalford, in July. I thought I picked a hardly used trail, and settled down for the night so started to cook about 9.00 p.m. It was still light..... and dog walkers came along soon after out of nowhere. The dog knocked my stove over and took some food. I was on edge after that, thinking they might have called the authorities. Then the next morning more dog walkers came along at 6.30. Again, because it was light. Nobody comes along when its dark. ☺

    Good to see your back on the water mate after a 2 months lay off. Thoroughly enjoyed this video. Love that one mate when you said I cover up my kayak to be inconspicuous... And then you put bloody fairy lights up lol Also 6 sausages and a burger and then pudding Jesus mate that would last me a week, I don't know where you bloody put it all, as my mother used to say you must have hollow legs

    Lovely! I camped out on an island here in Finland at the end of September, and also enjoyed a night-time dinner with a fireworks show. There's something immensely satisfying about being completely alone while others are gathered somewhere, don't you find? They don't know you even exist, yet you're there quietly having a blast. Unlike you, however, I didn't have the benefit of an unseasonably warm night, and woke to 5C and fog moving across the water. Even inside both sleeping bags, it took me an hour to convince myself to get dressed and start the day! Thankfully it soon warmed up, and my colleague/mate arrived in my spare kayak for our "saaritoimistopäivä" (island office day). Work is much more tolerable outdoors with fire and sausages :)

    Yes its a deal haha. Im an avid hiker and everywhere is just mud from October to March. Im sick of slipping and sliding in mud. I just wish for some days when I can walk on hard frosty ground, or even better..... snow. I only got two days of frosty ground (no snow) the whole of last 'winter' here in Surrey. I'll have to book a holiday somewhere snowy in January ☺ Cheers. Hope you get what you want 👍.

    Hi Steve, I'm looking to get my first inflatable kayak, thinking of getting the itiwit touring one man and I'd be doing some 1nighter wild camping ,my question is do you think it would be big enough to get all the camping gear in it ,be a small 1 man tent sleeping bag ,you know all the gear ,would be travelling light as possible obviously, I'd just like your opinion on the kayak, cheers mate

  • @StevieWyatt

    @StevieWyatt

    I you mean the Itiwit X500 like mine then absolutely. I did a video about how I pack an X500 for a camping trip, including tent. Plenty of room if you pack lightly and efficiently. If you mean other models, then pretty much all the Itiwit 2-person boats are good enough for one person and a backpack's worth of camping gear. Depends how far you want to go though. The longer the distance and the more upstream paddling you expect to do the more difficult the open style inflatable kayaks will be. Sometimes it comes down to what you can afford though! Good luck!
