Summer carp fishing has to be one of my favourite types of angling! There’s two methods I love to adopt in the warmer months and that's stalking and surface fishing. I run through my tackle and techniques in the video and land some stunning carp too.
Scaling down and using 8ft rods is such fun. If you've not tried it then give it a go. Stalking carp with a little 8ft rod is epic in the summer and I'll never get tired of this style of fishing. If you're struggling when carp fishing in hot weather, then this video is for you!

8ft best rod for stalking! I use the Shadow in the 2500 so I can put it on a bottom bait and click the baitrunner if I fancy a change. Awesome video Nick. Also you never have to worry about a Korum rod, I had a 20LB carp on my 10ft feeder rod the other day, rod was bent at the butt, but it didn’t give an inch!

A couple of really nice carp Nick . Now you can go down the river on Friday and do the same thing.Tight Lines mate . Sadly I have to work on the wonderful 16th June.

Awesome stuff nick, my clubs second water which is a carp lake for members only is ideal for stalking! Can't beat it

Lovely fish Nick .Something special surface fishing so rewarding but sometimes so frustrating .I always think a freelined bait is fishing in its purest state nothing finer 👍

Would it be ok using the 8ft opportunist with a 5g interceptor?
A little tip instead of using bread for surface fishing make some fake bread pop ups .Bang on for waters where breads banned .
