Hi Beth! It´s Pilar, from Sevilla (Spain). I´ve just discovered your channels and I love them. What about summer 2021 garden Tour? I know you are now in France, but I miss more videos in this channel. By the way, I live in a very, very, very hot place in Spain, so I perfectly understand your tomatoes problems with the sun! This week, in Andalucia (the region where Sevilla is) we´ll suffer more than 43º centigrades (113º F). Terrible! Greetings from Spain!!

Add a little peppermint oil to the neem spray because it will mask the distress scent, which attracts bad insects, a plant gives out when compromised. It helps the plant to rebound more quickly while adding a really nice scent too. Your classic garden is beautiful. 🦋

We have been gardening 40+ yrs. Plant your zucchini earlier in the season. They don't like it when it's too hot which is why you are getting fungus. We are in SE MI and we plant all squash-type 4 weeks earlier than our summer garden (tomato, cucumber, ect.). Squash plants are usually done by early summer.

Its been fun figuring out what we did right and what we did wrong this year. I also didnt know about pruning tomato plants and yeah it got crazy. Currently dealing with caterpillars and i think i got it figured out. thanks for the video!

Beth, for any herbs that aren’t doing well, give them a water soluble fertilizer that is high in nitrogen. In a few weeks you will see a huge difference in growth. They will come right back.also, zucchini, cucumbers, and melons are very heavy feeders. So again, water soluble fertilizer really helps. I use the organic product by miracle grow, but you can also use fish emulsion which is also great and organic. I use the water soluble fertilizer every 10-14 days.

Neem oil is good (the concentrate is so much more economical) but I find that copper or sulphur is a lot better for fungus like blights and powdery mildew. I work in a garden center with some farmers and that is what they have recommended to me and it has made a huge difference. Also, judging by the leaves of your orange trees, they need to be watered with some liquid iron. You will be amazed by how deep green the leaves will get.

I live in the LA area and find that a bit of afternoon shade on zucchini and other summer squash is helpful. They thrive best 80-85 and definitely not 9 hours of sun. Maybe a bit of shade cloth in the afternoon. Also, I really don’t find neem to be the most effective despite how everyone recommends it. I like the doctor earth final stop fungicide or upper fungicide for powdery mildew.

Glad to see you back in the garden! I was just wondering if you could answer a question for me...I also live in California with neighbors that are much too close. I want to add something along my fence for privacy. I remember you mentioning you put in ficus for a privacy screen, correct? Can you tell me the name of the plant exactly because I was reading about ficus and there are different types (apparently some have invasive roots as well and I would hate to make a mistake). And where did you buy the plants and how much do they grow each year? Not sure what size to buy. Thank you!

Yep I know the feeling! I have had most success this year putting them in planters! They get much bigger this way when they are off the ground. Check out my photo on IG: instagram.com/p/CB3d1UDhPt2/ I have never had them that big! And grow from seeds, not transplants. Hope that helps!!

Hi Beth, have you tried in the past, planting herbs in hanging pouches? We only have a back patio and no yard so that's the most we can do.

Oh I know! The audio was all over the place. In some takes the mic (I have a lavalier mic) was rolling and in some places it was not! So it's really a mess! Sorry about that!

@@InBethsGarden It wasn't a big deal. My sister was a youtube for awhile and I know how expensive equipment can be. Just something to put on your wishlist :) I'm very glad for each of your videos...But I like the gardening ones the best. I'd love a recipe for small satisfying desserts that won't break the diet :)

Hi Beth ☺I have a Costco pot of fresh rosemary I purchased last year. We also live in California and it gets super hot where we live. My pot of rosemary gets lots of sun and shade as well. She looked soooo green and beautiful a few months ago but now they're looking very sad. I water the pot 3 times a week. I have not trimmed or pruned it since I bought it around Fall-ish of 2020. It's not dead yet but it is getting there. What can I do to bring it bk to life? Thank you☺
