"I'm gonna haunt this place" 🤣🤣🤣 great garden

Wonderful story! I started a similar project in an overgrown corner lot with an arts and crafts home that was swallowed by the former owner's "naturalized" yard. Logging the diseased and dying pine forest for healtier cedars and firs and spruce we began the hardscaping.Stacked stone walls, arborvitae hedges, pergola over the patio, the "Hobbit" fence and gate, perennial beds overflowing with a joyfulness, the climbing rose wall of fragrance, shade garden under the magnolia tree, garden rooms that renew us an make us long for home whenever we are away. And a vegetable garden that nutures us. 19 yrs later we don't recognize the original place. Every part of it we built ourselves. 🌻👵👴🌻😊😊

This woman is a genius. I am great with interior design but landscaping is something else entirely. Her vision and talent is amazing.

This is the most amazing garden I have ever seen. It's sooooo gorgeous!!!! Both you and your husband are incredibly creative and hands on. I wish I have a husband like yours who can build walls, carpentry, and designs. You both work well together to turn this normal house and a big piece of land into something so beautiful. 🥰🥰🥰

OMG this is absolutely amazing! My parents are crazy about their garden. Now they've been owning their own house garden for three years, but before that, for almost twenty years, they've had a summer garden in the city suburban area (very East European thing in my opinion, a bunch of land divided into small squares so for people living in apartment buildings can have their own piece of land). It's always been fascinating for me to observe plants, fruit, vegetables growing and expanding and I'm really glad my parents have their own land again, and this time - forever! :)

We need channels like yours in these times, especially since so many of us have started gardening in our free time. Please upload more videos for us!

What a wonderful story, I was fortunate to visit the same castle in France almost 10 years ago and it is truly magnificent. You did fantastic job recreating the same spirit in your garden. I live in central Canada with temperatures dropping to minutes 40 degrees Celsius during winter, so our gardens are quite limited here. Love your channel and cooked many of your dishes. You are very inspirational and gifted teacher.

I’ve got to say (a) you guys have SOLVED everyone’s issue with fence height restrictions in the city! I mean, the city doesn’t have any codes about growing plants on trellises in your yard!!! Fantastic!! (b) You played the long game and won. (c) I would have loved to have seen you incorporate rain barrels with gravity fed irrigation to some of your plants. Maybe it doesn’t rain in SoCal 😬 I don’t know, honestly! Good job. It’s my dream property - small house on a larger plot of land.

I love your story, we've been growing a lot of our vegetables for 20 years, we have 8 vegetable garden beds. It's sad to me to hear that people were negative about you building your own vegetable garden because I've done it for half of my life and I don't know different. I guess that's what people from the city think, I've been in the country my whole adult life and I can't imagine not having a garden in the summer time. Good job 👏🏻 ❤️

Ok. I have watched this one episode at least 5 times!!! That garden is a dream and I love how you talked about how it all came to be! Can you consider doing a more in depth video about training the ficus trees and growing the fruits trees espalier?? I’m so interested!!!

I always considered parterres as purely decorative/ aesthetic like the ones in French chateaux, but partnering it with sustainability takes it to the next level!
