📍 Optimal Storage for Your CellAED®: Ensuring Readiness
Ensure your CellAED® is stored in a visible and easily accessible location, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ideal storage temperatures range between 15 to 35 degrees Celsius to maintain battery life.
🛡️ Keeping CellAED® in Protective Packaging
Your CellAED® must remain sealed in its protective packaging until needed during a sudden cardiac arrest event.
🚨 Recognising and Responding to Cardiac Arrest
A person in cardiac arrest will be unconscious, unresponsive, and either not breathing or breathing abnormally.
- Immediate Action: Call emergency medical services, start CPR, and retrieve your CellAED®.
- Preparing the Patient: Expose and prepare the patient’s chest before activating your CellAED®.
🔓 Unpacking Your CellAED®: Step-by-Step
To access your CellAED®:
1. Breaking the Seal: Grab the pull tab to break the tamper-evident seal.
2. Opening the Case: Peel off the tape seal, open the case, and remove the CellAED®.
3. Removing from Bag: Tear open the protective bag and take out the CellAED®.
- Inside the case, you'll find CPR pictures for guidance.
🔊 Using the CellAED®: The Snap, Peel, Stick Method
After removing the CellAED® from its packaging:
1. Activate the device.
2. Apply it using the Snap, Peel, Stick method.
👶 For Infants: Specific Instructions
For infants:
1. Place one pad with the blue button and speaker on the chest, the other on the back.
2. Follow audio prompts for infant mode.
3. During CPR, remove the front gel pad and reapply it after the cycle.
🔁 Continuing Treatment: Following Audio Instructions
- Continue chest compressions and rescue breaths as instructed by the audio prompts.
- Keep providing assistance until emergency services take over or if it's no longer safe to continue.
🆘 If CellAED® Cannot Revive a Patient
- Continue CPR where safe until emergency services arrive.
🛑 After Use: Deactivating Your CellAED®
To deactivate:
1. Remove the gel pads from the patient.
2. Stick the pads together for at least five seconds.
3. This action will stop the voice instructions and deactivate the CellAED®.
