Pulau Komodo or Bali is one of the most iconic tourist destination. If you want cheaper tour, you can explore Jogja or Bandung. Bromo mountain is also a good pick. If you like diving and snorkeling, you should visit Manado.

The boy was shy, not angry. They are village kids who rarely interact with tourist. If you like natural adventure try go to Sumba in Indonesia.

The owner seems friendly and highly educated... his accent is almost western...

Just because he speaks English doesn't mean that he is highly educated...it makes him relatable to English-speaking people. Also, in today's world, westerners are not the only people who are English speaking. Also, it's slightly sad that Dale didn't invest 5 min of this time to learn to say hello in the Indonesian language.

And the guy from 3:35 in this video is really want help for free, average of indonesian is pity to see others in trouble. In Indonesia there are no scammer like the Pakistani horse rider who harassed Dale. If there is, the people around will judge the person directly. Indonesian people really hate people like that, but yeah always carefull in any country 👍

@Jhon Vic Navarrete there are scammers all over the world, not just in those two countries. There are also many other ways to scam that don’t require a call centre and are found in other countries. To label a group on what is a ridiculously low percentage of its entire population in comparison is stupid. An Indian is 1000 times more likely to be an architect than a tech support scammer. People are the same all over the world and it shouldn’t be so hard to fucking understand.

Tbh yeah the crime rates here are actually bad. Like really bad. Your bag would be gone in the speed of light or worse a grab and run.

I'd stay there. Smart business owner for sure. Someone like that can make a town vs scammers which can ruin it.

That's a surprisingly clean river for an urban area. It looks beautiful.

The county is also one of the fastest leading growing economy in south east asia on par with Malaysia and Singapore. Educate yourself first before labelling a country poor.
