$4 Jakarta Airport Train 🇮🇩
I'm back in Jakarta, the largest city and the capital of Indonesia.
I was here, previously, in 2019 when I had a 24 hour stopover in the city. I made the most of that day by visiting Dufan, the large amusement park in the Ancol entertainment area ( • $15 Theme Park in Jaka... ).
This time I hope to spend a little bit longer in Jakarta and explore the city.
On the last visit, I remember how bad the traffic was to and from the airport. So, this time I decided to travel by train to save both time and money. There's a modern train that runs from Jakarta's Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, right into the city centre.
At just 70,000 rupiah (just over $4) the train was much better than I expected. Spacious, clean, air conditioned and with leather seats.
I was more than happy with my decision to travel by train. When you take a taxi, you can't make friends, like I did during the train journey. Some local Indonesians were very helpful in giving me suggestions on places to visit and things to eat during my stay in their country.
My hotel in Jakarta was located near a train station on the commuter line. The airport line only stops at a few big stations, then you can switch the commuter line easily enough, although I did have to buy a card to load money onto. You can't just buy a ticket for a single journey.
I enjoyed the short ride on the commuter train with a sunset view of the Jakarta skyline. I had hoped to get to my hotel well before evening, considering that my flight was scheduled to land at 1 p.m. but with all that hassle at the airport with being made to download contact tracing apps and a huge queue for Visa on Arrival, that didn't happen.
Fortunately I still made it to my hotel, the "DoubleTree by Hilton - Diponegoro" in the Cikini area, just before the swimming pool was closing, so I got to enjoy a good swim to end the long travel adventure that started in Dubai.

Dale, I just realize that among other travel vloggers, you are the most natural/honest yet so friendly and funny at the same time. I cant explain it, but watching you is never boring... You have your own character, unlike other travel vloggers that put typical title like: "Never Expected Jakarta to be so modern..." those videos are not honest in my opinion. those videos just want to exploit third world people inferiority. I watch you not because you are white people coming to my country, but because your personality is interesting... plus... I really like the accent.

Previously, Indonesian trains were very bad and were always underestimated by Thailand and Malaysia. but after 5-8 years of repair, the railway system in Indonesia is very good and spread over various islands. Java, Sumatra and Sulawesi islands

I spent some time in Solo a few years ago, it's a really friendly place, with a really welcoming small ex pat community too. Not many travellers go there but its well worth a visit, good experiences abound.

Thank you for visiting solo. We have cheap food and living fee.. Plus there are alot entertaining place to visit. For example mountain, you can hike to merbabu.. If you want to go yogyakarta, you can take with train for 1 hour..

There are still unfinished work ...lots of slum in Jakarta .. especially in west Jakarta...lots of people migrate to Jakarta for just earning some money and then sending back to their hometown....and so many pragmatism people just build their unpermanent home along the river and railway ...that's the disaster of city planning in jakarta

Melihat video ini, saya harap pemerintah melakukan banyak peningkatan untuk antrian visa turis. Bayangkan setelah perjalanan panjang, turis wajib mengantri panjang pula, bagaimana kalau mereka bawa bayi? Blm lagi bagasi mereka yg diterlantarkan begitu saja dipinggiran tanpa informasi dsb. Terminal 3 ini adalah terminal yg baru direnovasi, bagaimana bisa eskalator sdh ga jalan. Petugas utk skyline dan juga penjual kartu kereta yang tidak bisa menjelaskan dg lancar bagaimana proses/cara kerja mesin dan kartu. Benar2 bikin frustasi untuk wisatawan asing ,apalagi kalau benar mesin tiket tidak ada dalam bahasa Inggris. Benar2 harus melakukan banyak peningkatan service dan bahasa inggris minimum untuk yg kerja diairport, jangan cuma senang bisa foto2 dg bule.

When you're going to Toraja you have to see the burial tradition Dale! It's one of the most iconic culture in Indonesia! Just ask people there if there will be burial ceremony near where youre living at! The ceremony itself often take a week to be finished so I think you'll get your chance to attend one or two!👍👍
Although it didn't go well at first, after meeting your fans, everything went well, it's great to have someone to help! The train route is a bit complicated and if I was there alone I would definitely get lost! Glad they upgraded the room for you, it looks like a very comfortable room! I love everything in your fridge, if I were in that room, I should be stealing something, haha! Have a great travel in Jakarta, take care! 👍😃🙌

Ahh mate only like.. couple of minutes in and love your content already bro.. I'm from Jakarta haven't been in like 16years maybe even longer. I live in Scarborough UK. Wish I was there right now still 🔥
My suggestion is, please don't only eat Nasi Goreng 😂, there are lots of other delicious Indonesian foods. As a Jakartan, I would love to recommend few places: 1. Sate Padang Petak Sembilan (Located at Glodok/ Chinatown) 2. Bakmie Bintang Gading (choose the thick ujung pandang noodles) (Got quite a lot of branches, can check which one is nearer to your location though). 3. Bebek Kaleyo (got quite a lot of branches as well) 4. Chicken Satay/ Sate Ayam and Soto Betawi at Sate Khas Senayan (got a lot of branches as well) 5. Bumbu Den Restaurant, located at Kelapa Gading Area serving Manadonese foods (I highly recommend to get the Rica Rica Squid and Bakwan Jagung) 6. Nasi Padang at Sederhana Restaurant (My favourite is rendang, ayam goreng and ayam bakar with Curry Egg and Kerupuk Kulit (Cow Skin Cracker). Remember to tell the person serving you that you want "kuah banjir" to get lots of curry on your rice) 6. Nasi Uduk 7. Ketoprak and Gado Gado . All these places I mentioned above are considered affordable, but delicious af...trust me~ Note: Hope I can accidentally meet you, have seen your videos for so long, didn't expect you'll be back to Indonesia, especially Jakarta

You can visit North Jakarta PIK, there's a lot of cafe, lounges and bar you can visit there Especially Pantai Maju. Commuter trains also available for travelling around Jakarta and Tangerang.

P.S the da nang hilton in Vietnam treats diamonds very well. Highly recommend a visit to the city!
Finally a foreign vlogger take an airport train from Soekarno-Hatta Airport. Vloggers usually take taxis. Jakarta's airport train (and KRL Commuter Line) needs more exposure for foreigners. Despite the lack in direction, you found them pretty worth value, didn't you?

@@lightyagami7100 No doubt, ML has been played by us almost 7 years I think. It is famous here bcause most of us have Smartphone than a pc gaming. So, Mobile game is affordable rather than pc game, like dota.
