Then she shouldn't have killed Mehmet, bcz she only had one son. Nor ever she felt apologized. The burden came down on poor Mustafa. She was also warned by a lady. But she got greedy for power and turned evil. And she was in pain bcz it was her karma. Like hurem faced karma, she also did. And no, the pain is same even if u have more children or one. And before hurem, mahedeviran did same to other girls and took the place. Everyone has their own life. Misery comes when u start comparing ur life with others. And try to have things in jealousy. Nor it was like she was mad in love for suleiman. So i dont really get when people do sympathy even for people who did evil things. Everyone in the palace, was not innocent and had karma in their own ways except Mehmet, Mustafa, Jahangir and Beyazit.

Here I am talking about the greed of Mahedeviran for power which made her to murder. Same for Hurem. And if that became common, then what's the sympathy for? Everyone did things on the expense of selling their souls. In the end, why become Victim?? Mahedeverian called herself victim as if she was only pure and made Hurem the only evil one in her mind. But the thing I like about Hurem is she accepted what she did wrong to others and not thought she was the only victim in this war.

Mahidevran lived to old age of 81. She saw the deaths of hurrem, Suleyman and all their children in her lifetime. Mustafa was murdered by his own father, and Hurrem was strongly believed to be involved. A month later Cihangir the youngest child of Hurrem died of illnesses. Years later Hurrem's child Beyazid was killed by his father ( and Selim his brother) too. Karma.

Hurrem actually had another son Abdullah who died aged 3. His birth is not shown.

I was really impressed by both actresses who played Hurrem. Terrific performances from both.

I feel so bad for Selim. Hearing from your brother “it would be better if you died” is so painful. I bet if Selim said such words, Mihrimah would go nuts. She didn’t even comfort him. He is literally alone.

That's why I sympathize more with Selim and despite history being unkind to him, he just did what he was destined to do, the best he could. Besides, we really can't say for sure if any of his brothers would've been better rulers, i love to think though that of the four, Mehmet would've been the kindest and the most just simply because Mahidevran was not his mother. Some historians and people nowadays love to blame him for the downfall of the Ottoman when Selim's reign was relatively short (8 years) and the Ottoman empire was only abolished in the 1900s.

@@Joy_1223 you are again twisting history and show. All other Sultans also ruled just few years except of Suleyman who was Sultan for long time. So if Selim was capable he would just continue the Empire or even more in those years....but he loved to chill and relax unlike his father and brother Mustafa. Maybe if his mother really was Mahidevran he would be a great ruler because in real life she was good and dedicated to raise her som well as we saw. As for Mehmed he died very young in age of 21 so we can't know if he would be great or not because he couldn't show himself by that age as governor of Manisa (only few months or at least one year).

Mustafa was innocent too, Hurrem!

Hurrem never won this game. She accused Mustafa that he made alliance with tahmasp. In the end it was her own son who did it. Beyazid betrayed Suleiman. (Suleiman deserves it ) She always thought if Mustafa dies she and her family will finally be happy. But. Cihangir died of depression because of mustafa's death. She also kept saying all the time that Mustafa will kill his brothers. I don't think Mustafa would've ever killed Cihangir and Beyazid. Because both of them would've stayed loyal to Mustafa. Only Selim would've been the problem. In the end It was Hurrem's son who committed fratricide. . Selim killed Beyazid and his innocent little sons. Also Selim died in bathroom while chasing a concubine, he slipped and fell . Because he was drunk at that moment. Then died . I mean it couldn't be more humiliating than this , in my opinion. And even now after all this year's still people blame Hurrem for ottoman empire's downfall. Even though ottoman empire lasted about 300 years after this. Many incidents happened that was directly responsible for the empire's downfall. And no one surely knows that it would've been really great if Mustafa actually succeeded to the throne. But still people believe it would've been. Just bcz she gave birth to 4 princes and could marry sultan and sometimes even advised suleiman in politics still it doesn't mean she won. Everyone will agree in history and in series too after Ibrahims death the empire weakened, Hurrem sultan removed many pashas , beys who didn't support her and her sons. It's historically proven , also after Suleiman bcz it wasn't Beyazid or Mustafa the empire faced many great loses. Ottomans lost many conquered lands , lost navy fleet. Janissaries became jobless, loyal pashas or beys were rare as most of them were greedy for power and also there wasn't any sultan worth serving with utmost loyalty and dignity. Just bcz the empire lasted and was better than many other empires doesn't mean it's good. Everyone agreed it could've been better. When you could have the diamond and got gold , although gold is precious than other materials. And if you keep saying it again and again will it change the fact that you could have something better than it but didn't get ? No. Even if Hurrem had a small role in the empire's downfall People will still blame her. And people will keep saying that if Pargali Ibrahim lived longer , if Mustafa or Beyazid acceded to the throne it the empire would've still been stronger. The fact that Suleiman was called magnificent. Then his son Selim ll was called drunkard, Selim's son Murad was a womaniser and greedy sultan, I once read he had more than 200 children, then Murad's son was a cruel man who killed 19 of his brothers and one of his own son. Then came Ahmed who was weak (still better than others comparatively ,but sadly died too early) ,then came Mustafa who was mentally unstable, then came Osman , he was such a big disappointment that his own civilians killed him. Then came Murad lV , the short tempered one and then the worst one . Ibrahim the mad. Who raped women and killed many people for no reason. It doesn't seem serious to us now after centuries but people in that era they suffered much and they blamed Hurrem for it. No one knows if Mustafa became sultan his son and the next generation wouldn't been a disappointment or even worse. But still it will be written in the history that Hurrem had a role in empires downfall. No empire collapses overnight. Many incidents, small decisions are responsible generally. Mustafa's execution was one of the biggest tragedies amongst those mistakes. Bcz till suleiman ottomans were only growing and developing in every field. They became the most powerful empire in the world at that time. Like America is the strongest country and almost controls everything in the world today. Any way infact historians say that Hurrem was tge first reason of Ottoman's downfall. Her involvement in Mustafa's death worked like a butterfly effect and later that one incident harmed the empire greatly. NOTHING WILL CHANGE THAT. Karma played back VERY WELL l. I wish Hurrem lived a bit longer to witness what happened next to Beyazid And then died.

Well, Mustafa did not die in Hurrem's hands, whereas Mahidevran plotted the murder of pregnant Hurrem and her then unborn son, Mehmet. If that's your idea of karma, then we can say the same for Mahidevran. She was so evil to plan the poisoning of a pregnant woman and the baby in her womb. In the end, she lost her only son and her beloved grandson. Then she lived in poverty and nearly forgotten in history books until Selim, the son of the woman Mahidevran hated, saved her from hunger and desolation. Now tell me, who between Hurrem and Mahidevran was a better mother? Hurrem always admonishes her child when they speak harshly against their elders, but Mahidevran clearly wanted Mustafa to hate Hurrem, and I believed he did too.

Mahidevran paid with her son’s life for taking away Mehmet’s life. Hurrem’s children won the war and the game. Her son ascended the throne, Hurrem died with glory and surrounded by loved ones whilst Mustafa died by his father’s hand and Mahidevran rotted her way to grave in poverty and misery. Divine justice 😂

Hurrem vowed to keep Suleiman because Mahidevran never ceased to insult her any chance she gets. She used to being the favorite and all the concubines bow to her. She was just lucky that Valide Sultan and the evil sisters believed in her. In the end, she was the one who suffered more. First she lost her only hope to get back at Hurrem. After Mustafa died, she practically lived in poverty and stepped back in the place ever again

She replaced Gulfem and boasted of how she made this woman suffer whereas Hurrem never took joy or pride in Mahidevran’s pain. Mahidevran loved to blame Hurrem when she did the same thing to Gulfem. Same with Mustafa, she wanted revenge on Hurrem for his death but didn’t realize Mustafa’s loss was her punishment for killing Mehmet. She was arrogant, blind, greedy, selfish and never took accountability.

This is years after his death. The show did the stupid thing to cut off the funeral and the mourning for Mehmet but it was evident that both Hurrem and Suleiman were heartbroken.

Dude he’s not selfish. Suleiman was not even in the same city but miles away, on a campaign. He wasn’t present during the funeral, he went into mourning and locked himself up. I agree, Suleiman left Hurrem on many occasions and wasn’t there for here to protect her that she had to fight alone but in this case he didn’t leave her alone.

Suleiman wasn't with Hurrem in Topkapi but he was also beyond grief. It was extremely difficult for him seeing his youngest son's last few days and moments on earth. He knew Cihangir was inconsolable and blame him for Mustafa's death and that may have triggered the son's fears that he could be next. You saw how Suleiman emotionally suffered seeing his son dying and not having the power to save him. However, as Sultan he can not just abandon his troops and at that point may still be in shock seeing Cihangir not having the will to live anymore. He suffered just as much as Hurrem but his soldiers also needed him.

I hate Beyazid's arrogance!

Why sulaiman punish himself ..as.a muslim he can do that ...😮

It’s not a sin to protect your children. Mustafa had to go precisely because of his mother.

@@leylaaydn7192 Mehmet died solely because of the bit€h Mahidevran and her thirst for blood. She’s also the one who started the hostility by beating and poisoning Hurrem while pregnant. She also doomed Mustafa by poisoning his relationship with his father and turning him into Hurrem’s enemy. She never failed to threaten Hurrem’s children with Mustafa and make him her bait. She’s the reason Hurrem went after Mustafa and the cause of the first rift between him and his father. Mustafa’s greatest curse was his own mother.

​​@@connierichards9121 Had he lived long enough, I don't believe Mehmet will have his brothers executed, including Mustafa because he is being depicted in history books as the kindest. Mustafa on the other hand might have also spared his brothers most especially Cihangir whom he clearly loved most of all. It's Mahidevran I don't trust because she wanted badly to see Hurrem's downfall alongside Hurrem's children.
