High winds between Selim and Bayezid...
The princes gather in the capital for Cihangir's sword girding ceremony. High winds bluster among the brothers who come together after years, especially between Selim and Bayezid. The fact that Mustafa has been welcomed effusively by the janissaries resonates with the palace. Rüstem doesn't hesitate to use this against the prince.
Meanwhile, a Venetian odalisque who has been presented as a gift to the palace draws attention with her beauty. This woman will change not only hers but also the destiny of the royal family.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

Such things never happened in real life. Hürrem didn't have to hide and listen. Süleyman always asked Hürrem to sit inside the court behind a curtain. Then he always asked her advice before making any decisions. Hürrem's real power and influence were never shown in this series

One thing i like the most is the closeness of Mustafa to his siblings its so touching. Hurrem never teached bad words to het children while Mahadevran always put mustafa's mind is the throne

Loving the reactions of the brothers when they hear it's Selim 😂Mustafa thought he was hearing things, Selim was in disbelief, Bayezid was furious, and Cihangir was thinking "this will not go well" 😂
Look. I don't hate Mustafa. But if it were anyone but Our Main Character And Hero saying 'My brother's death was a punishment you deserved for sending me somewhere else', it would come off as callous and quite mean spirited instead of an epic own that we as the audience are meant to agree with.

On the one hand, I love Hürrem's 'girlboss era'. On the other hand, the show leans so heavily into the 'corrupting influence on Süleyman' idea. Which is...not great.
Ottomans in 16th century never had a Crown Prince. Manisa Sanjak was the closest to the capital so it was considered that the Sehzade running it would have more chances of becoming the next Sultan. Suleyman's father Sultan Selim I is proof of that, the youngest and the least favored by his father but still managed to overthrow his brothers and his father.

Also, if Mustafa was still alive at the time of Suleyman's death he would have become the next Sultan no matter which Sanjak he would have ruled. The support and love of the Jannisaries would have ensured his ascension.

@@yongie1553 oh I'm not agreeing with the first comment lol he wasn't delighted at all, I'm just saying he might have been more dangerous to his brothers in show canon than a lot of people seem to think. He openly threatens his brothers to intimidate Hurrem to her face. I'm not saying he wasn't written to genuinely love them but they didn't do an especially good job showing it. It made Bayezid and Cihangir's devotion to him confusing.
It was wonderful if Sultan choose Cihangir as next🥰😊
