Suleiman Goes On His Final Campaign | Magnificent Century "I'M NOT DEAD YET!"
Magnificent Century Episode 139: • Magnificent Century Ep...
The Magnificent Century takes leave with a breathtaking final episode. Suleiman gets plunged into darkness after Bayezid died and he gets even sicker. Selim tries to releive his pain falling back upon alcohol. Defne fights with all her strength to be able to protect her son. She understands there's no way out while she sees Nurbanu in front of her. The mother and her son walk towards the death holding onto each other. Mihrimah gets Nurbanu in a big trouble flaming with vengeance. Gülfem tries to kill Suleiman considering he is the responsible of everything has happened. However, the night ends with a dark secret. After the agony, Selim comes in the capital as the only heir to the throne. Mihrimah severs all ties with Selim since she sees him as a fratricide. Suleiman loses his strenght day by day and gets furious when he hears what his people talk about him.
And Suleiman the Magnificent goes for his last journey in a blaze of glory. An era ends while Suleiman the Sultan of the world gasps his life out!
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

The reason the future generations did not join campaigns was due to safety. The Empire extended at its biggest during Suleyman’s reign. Campaigns were long, difficult and long distances to travel for the sultans. And it was dangerous to leave the capital, as in the absence of the Sultan, riots could occur.

He looks magnificent in this white outfit and crown. Despite his illness and old age, his strength and courage are legendary. He is one of the fortunate ,brave and great sultans who wrote his name in golden words in history.

Yes, because white was the colour reserved for the sultan’s family, which is why Mustafa used it in his last. meeting with his father! But in this series, enjoy the magnificence and lay history aside! Halit Bey is much more charismatic than the real sultan anyway!

@@ryara4758 As far as the Titiano profile is accurate, yes. The same goes for his old age picture. The miniatures in TopKapi archives are too fine to distinguish the hooked nose and white turban. The sultan's colour was white for garments. Why they chose so many blue outfits for Halit Bey beats me! Still, he has that endearing gesture of not sitting on a cloth of gold outer garment which is absolutely adorable.

I cry seeing this. He knew he wasn't coming back, he wanted to go out as the warrior he always was. Smiled seeing him holding what looks like the mirror hurrem gave him. I think he just got sick of surviving and wanted to be with her again. He and hurrem both always said they didn't truly exist without the other. He wanted his Hurrem

A quick observation - there is a change in modulation when Suleiman goes with the monologue at the very first episode and now at this clip - corresponding to how he has aged. And Suleiman taking one last look at Mihirimah is heart breaking. He knows its his last time ever.

Pay attention👉🏼 Suleiman and Hurrem BOTH died as they wanted: Hurrem wanted to die before Suleiman: “Since I met and loved Suleiman, I prayed to die before him, not to witness his death”. She dreamed to die in his arms surrounded with family and she did. Suleiman wanted to die as the Winner, on the war field: “My reign began with conquest and will end with conquest”. And he did die as the winner and conqueror. Imagine if Hurrem was alive and witnessed death of Suleiman far away from her. This would be the worst pain for her. Surely she would never enjoy Valide Sultana title and her rest life would be endless suffering. Allah knew what was the best! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
