What a legendary and the most underrated singer! She deserves Padma awards but unfortunately our union government will not recognise southern artists as they did with Janaki Amma. Each song of hers is an epic with ARR. Can't wait for next episode

Even north Indian artists are ignored. Alka Yagnik deserves Padma Bhushan for her body of work since 1980s. But she also hasn't received one by the govt.

Sujatha chechi ❤❤❤...Her association with ARR gave us some amazing songs, of course, Pudhu Vellai mazhai from Roja started that journey for someone like me but 'Netru illatha matram' was so magical but my personal favorites are 'Nalai Ulagam' from Love Birds and 'Poo Pookkum Osai' - she certainly deserved the national award for that...She also doesnt hesitate to give chorus or hummings for some of the most iconic ARR songs...

Ever since I heard the humming in ‘Kadhal rojave / Roja jaane man’, I fell in love with Mrs. Sujatha Mohan’s voice. Over the years, her association with Mr. A.R.Rahaman has given us terrific songs that not only were huge hits back in the day but are also timeless. A prolific singer and a pleasure to listen to - both while singing as well as talking! Thanks for having Mrs. Sujatha Mohan. This series would’ve been incomplete without her. After all, she is the female singer who has recorded the most for Mr. A.R.Rahman including jingles, songs, backing vocals and BGMs.

After watching Sujatha’s interview, I felt that she also has a very beautiful smile and laughing along with a sweet presence and good personality. Atleast, it’s not just Chitra ji but we have got another singer with a bright and wide smile that can light up a room💡. Agree with the Moment of the Day but why is it that her humming in Roja was not mentioned so far is a much louder and curious question from my side! How much ever she might have sung for Rahman including the jingles, that little humming in the title song of Roja is the icing on the cake for that song and took her places overnight and opened doors to her singing career to bloom. It’s like all her other songs on one hand and just this one humming itself is vera level! But it’s surprising neither O2 India nor herself has started the conversation nor ended the interview regarding that song. I feel like she must be eternally grateful to ARR just for that humming alone even if he didn’t give her anything else to sing. Playing her jingles too is commendable here on the show. Those ads just take you to those good old times that will never come back no matter how long it may take!! The pure essence and the real magic of her voice is more apt and well captured in those jingles and Roja humming and few other songs more than her regular songs. In terms of playback singing for films, despite having a voice of her own, her singing style more or less resembles Chitra’s style of rendition who is her senior colleague in the industry. Yet she was one of the busiest singers of her times after Chitra and Spb. Though, her playback singing style in itself can’t be compared to those legends, her voice has a magical touch and a divine connect which is very well captured in some songs of the 90s and many of them happen to be ARRs hits. But all of this started with Roja where her humming has been extremely popular and no one except her could sing like that. It’s just the divine magic of the song that reflected too well in her humming like as if she’s a musical instrument herself! So that one humming alone deserves one full episode according to me while it was not even mentioned here in the first episode itself is my complaint!

Sujata ji gave a very good answer to the question that was asked to her that, you sing songs less now. It showed her greatness & her upbringing, while she replied that "there are many new singers who should get a chance, we sang many songs". But we never hear such an answer from our Bollywood singers. Firstly, can't sing properly now, and secondly lack in doing Riyaz, but blame the music directors that the songs are not good, the songs of our time are not made anymore etc. It's a shame. Till date Sujata ji maintains the same vocal range and so do Chitraji but they prefer giving opportunity to new talent. Lt. Lataji, Asha Tai, Suman Kalyanpur are still singing the same. Don't blame your ineptitude on music directors but give new artists a chance.

Finally Sujatha Mohan. She has such a special place in ARR's career, and in our hearts. Thanks for this @O2india. Such a lively personality. Very interesting story of the first jingle recording. And thanks for sharing some of those TV ads. First time I saw these.

Well we thought about it. If you study KZread algorithm... when an epiosde is more than 15-20 minutes, only 20-30 % of total duration gets watched. Thus we have restricted ourselves. Hope you will understand. Regards
