disappointed the Jort line doesn't come with Jean Shorts

I'm fortunate enough to have a Suitsupply store within a mile of my office. I bought a Lazio in October in Navy (best fit I've ever had in 35 years of buying suits), a navy turtleneck and a brown tie. I get a lot of options when wearing the suit or mixing the jacket with grey trousers or jeans and I always get so many complements. I went back at the beginning of November and bought two waistcoats and another tie for more options. For less than $1,500 in total (tax and alterations) I can put together multiple great looking combinations.. I worked with the same stylists each time and he comments that I was going to have a Suitsupply closet. I've budgeted to go back in December for a grey suit. I highly recommend them!!! The Modest Man I would have to differ, im a former suit supply employee and they make sure their training experts follow Suitsupply religiously while they teach new employees. And eventually new employees are sent to suitschool for a company approval via a final test that consists of everything down to the fitting of the garment on the client.

Lol.. way to back up a fellow youtuber and somehow attack extremely well trained people. Former employee here and not only is this video wrong, but the employees are trained to know the differences from day one and cannot pass training until they take a test showing this knowledge in action

Nice, you came to the same conclusion I did... And we have different body shapes.... Washington has such a beautiful cut. I've had so many compliments on my Washington grey birds eye suit.

Hey my friend. I’m buying a suit this weekend from them. What suit should I look for? I bodybuild so I’m pretty buff. I want a nice slim fit tho. What do you recommend? Lazio?

great video. I have a Lazio suit from Suit Supply and love the fit and fabric. I'm a bigger guy and have trouble getting suits off the rack, but the Suit Supply 44L jacket was perfect. Only needed to have the pants hemmed and taken in slightly. Way better value for money than a Hugo Boss suit that I purchased from Nordstrom.

Great Vid Jon, was very curious about this very topic as I'm tempted by a few Havana sportcoats vs. some Siennas.

Great video! I purchased a Lazio fit blue check suit at my local Suitsupply store recently. It was my first high end suit. I love it! I had a great experience at the store with the sales rep, alternations, etc. I also grabbed light blue check traveller shirt. It was pricey for a dress shirt, but nice color, pattern and fit.

The 40 one actually looks great on you. All the suits are beautiful. The peaked lapels have a great shape/proportion.

I might have 5 or 6 Suit Supply Suits in my collection, always keeping my eye out for a deal. I love the Lazio and Havana. Great suits for the pricepoint, even though I never pay full retail. Great review, the guys at Gentleman's Gazette gave them a snobby thumbs down, I guess they didnt care for the fits. Note: That Havanna in the dark navy pinstipe is killer, not crazy about the patch pockets on that serious fabric, but what a beautful suit! Thanks for the revew.

The Kavalier it was a perfect fit, apart from the hem of the trousers. I thought Suit Supply would cover tailoring and I emailed them, but they said no sorry.

For people watching, remember that this guy is 6' 4" and 170 lbs.

An issue I had with SuitSupply was the surgeon's cuffs and cost of tailoring a jacket with functioning button holes ($100 per sleeve at local tailors). Sadly, I'm a tall guy and even the long fits needed to be extended by over an inch. The added cost pushed the suits beyond the value range for me, so I ended up returning. Tailoring a normal jacket with non-functioning cuff buttons only costs $25 per sleeve.

This is a crazy coincidence. I literally spent 20 minutes on the phone this morning talking to a SuitSupply customer service rep deciphering all the different fits and trying to find the best fit for me. We ended up deciding that the Lazio will be my ideal fit OTR given my physical dimensions. So, Mr. Kavalier, SuitSupply Lazio ($599) vs Oliver Wicks W OTR ($399)? I appreciate your help and advice.

Oliver wicks uses the same VBC fabrics for the most part don’t they? And I believe they’re cheaper than suit supply plus you get the luxury of customizing it to your preference. Interested to know how you would compare Suit supply to them. I can see a wool and silk blend on the OW website right now for 599, they do have the Black Friday sale going on tho but even then, seems cheaper than the jort collection.

I'm going to give suitsupply a try. I just had a sort of disappointing experience with Brooks Brothers, and I'm looking for another half-canvas suit for under $700 that'll get me there.

Just left Suit Supply here in Houston. Awesome selection and I also loved the fit of the Washington best. Surprising because I dont have a slim build at all. The only thing for me is the jacket length is a bit too long.

Okay. I lied. The final suit. The slimmest fit. Looks incredible. No tailoring needed

Does the length of the suits differ depending on cut? I heard the Lazio is shorter than the Napoli even when in the same size.

Do you have a suitsupply in your city? would love to se a mtm option that you go in and go through.. that process would be lovely to see!

I buy Washington and Lazio fits. Lazio is far trimmer than the Washington yet the Washington is billed as their most tailored cut. Ive bought and tried on in store and on line and its always the same. Kinda weird. Also Sienna has a fairly tailored look even if its not as trim as the others but it does not have a roped shoulder like the Lazio and Washington. Its similar to Hugo Boss fits and stylings. It does have slanted pockets with a ticket pocket which no other cuts have (Washington has straight pockets with ticket because its a virtual copy of Tom Ford - which I love btw). And Suit Supply does have the best garment bags in the business..... You Should have gotten a 38R in the Jort for this comparison instead of the 40 since you want to compare chest and not jacket length. Great Video though. Thanks for posting it.

What would be your recommendation between Suitsupply and Oliver Wicks for basic suits?

Do all the pants from suitsupply have inside button suspenders?

That Washington is the only fit i have bought so far i have 2 suits in that and i love it. I replaced the buttons on the jacket and pants with these beautiful horn buttons that compliment the suits and for 20 bucks it was so worth it. Sadly ive put on a bit of muscle so the jackets doesnt fit as perfect as they should, its a sad yet happy time. Great unexpected video though!

@@Nattymatty7 Man that's a hard question to answer. If you can stopping into a store that would by far be your best bet. You can also try calling a location and tell them your measurements and they could help you with picking the cut/style of the suit. That would narrow down which style to at least chose before having it tailored.

the drop six works for me. I have a 42 inch chest and 31 inch waist. The 42 inch jacket comes with size 36 inch pants which I have taken in. The higher size leaves room for my thighs. This higher size gives the pants a higher rise as well, which I like. Some of their suits come with pleated pants which is good for dudes with muscle. Then you have more room for your seat and your junk.

What is that shirt you’re wearing? It fits you so well in the arms. I’m a taller, slimmer guy like you and it’s hard for me to find a great fitting shirt. So far Charles Tyrwhitt is the only company that makes a good affordable shirt that fits. Great video, very informative.

That was probably one of the fits that I wasn't able to get in my 38L size.

Jort Kelder is a public figure in the Netherlands. He's smart, funny and has been vegetarian for over 30 years! (And designs the best suits).

I went to a local mens warehouse, I had the assistant manager pick out a suit for me which was a dark navy or maybe just navy cuz it was obviously blue in the sunlight than black lol He was cool and taught me a lot, he even tried to persuade me from getting a vest cuz it wasn't necessary, but I always liked the look of vests. Grabbed some nice derbys cuz I also like to wear jeans too. It was fun. I bet I would have a worse experiment going to nordstrom rack cuz that place is always busy and workers don't know shit about men's fashion... just saying from experience lol

PS and I should mention I have a navy Lazio, and it's great. had to custom order a separate waistcoat for it though, which added some 30-40% to the cost, but it was worth!

They are all very slim fit are there any that are loose

How are they so slim fit without any tailoring? With the correct size, Havana slim fit tend to have shorter and fat sleeves .

Can I make a suggestion. Buy vintage ties. Wider and beautiful silks. Mine are from Op shops and cost between $3 and $20 dollars. Hermes,Lavin, etc. And you save the planet

You must own an incredible number of suits. Are suits required for your day job?

What are the penny loafers?

Suitsupply products are very good. Store workers don't know f--- about alteration and told to ALWAYS take in the jacket width from SIDES because it is more EXPENSIVE than doing it from the center.

For fit reference, what is your shoulder width? And what is the shoulder width on the Washington 38? Great video, thanks!!

@@The_Kavalier Thank you. I was hoping for pricing closer to their Napoli line, especially since a family friend is a good tailor that fixes my suits for cheap. Seems like most of their 3 piece suits in OW are around 600. I'll look into it though.

I had issues with fitment even with their customize suits because I am short (only 5' 4") and I lift weights. I was not to thrill about the Havana jackets either.

I am the same height, and had the same issues. Sleeves and back were too tight, and couldn't shorten the jacket enough. Havana is unconstrucxted so it fit me the best, however they couldn't shorten it enough because the pockets got in the way, and I eventually gained too much weight to fit in it in two months... I think suits with stretch works the best if you lift which will be more tolerant to body measurement fluctuations. Either way, it's really tough finding any suit that will fit a shorter body building frame lol.

Correct! I was going to say this too. I think each of the lines simply refers to a different type of construction, except for maybe the Jort line which is exclusively about premium materials (and construction).
