I love it more than 3, it is still one main char instead of stupid 3 char in suikoden 3 no suikoden feel for me.

I love how so many little things are connected

It's been years since I last played and STILL learning these little details. Suikoden is my favorite series overall.

This and MGS are my two fav continuous series. Konami used to be so amazing. Now they can burn in hell.

I got into Suikoden with IV and I have a special love for this entry of the series.

I love Suikoden IV, Suikoden Tactics was great too and I liked how Tactics tied into IV. I love every Suikoden game, and I love this video because it shows love to this underrated gem. :)

I love the trolly music when the Reinbach type flamboyant character appears.

Also Gary and Maximillian share the same star of destiny. The Chii Star (The Majestic Star)

I know im 2 years late to the party. But i absolutely love Wendel. and i absolutely love Suikoden 4 too. Thanks for producing content discussing them 😁

This was the first game in the series I played and got me into it. I love this game.

I love Suikoden IV so much. I know it gets hate, but I enjoyed it so much back when I got it on release in 2005. Did you also know Ted from Suikoden made an appearance in IV?

I liked 4, it's just overshadowed by how overwhelmingly good the other ones are, (including 5 which was a huge improvement). Having Tactics version to support it helped make it a unique entry. I felt the same way with Tierkries; I liked it but it unfortunately had nothing to do with the original timeline and changed too many things. I just wanna see what happens after 3. ;-;

As the only Suikoden I have played, I still love it. Even if everyone else says its the worst one. But in my mind, if its the worst its still pretty fun ^^

Aside from battle encounters every goddamn second, I like this game a lot

I played this game when i was 9 years old I enjoyed it a lot even tho I didn’t know what the story is about and it was my first rbg game

You could have added a point to the Camille and Rachel Part. Rachel is chasing Cedric where as Camille chased Gremio. Point is, Cedric and Gremio share some similarities in appearance as well. Rita, also could be the ancestor of Meg.

Lazlo was the older brother of King Matthias of Hungary and son of Janos Hunyadi. The "General Eisenhower" of the 1400s and victor of the most important battle of the medieval era. Lazlo was killed before he had a chance to do anything to change the world though, other than reinforcing the walls of Nandorfehervar which probably effected the outcome of the battle. San Juan Capistrano and Vlad the Impaler were both participants in the same conflict as him.

My first suikoden game is suikoden tactics, i love it and then I start play them by sequence : ST, S4,S5,S1,S2. The sad thing is, i never got a change To play S3

Anyhow I like the character writing so far. A few of the characters might be pretty standard, but the character designs and their dialogue make them really enjoyable to watch and interesting. Couple that with 108 😊

Too bad they didn't have any "Original Suikoden Team" anymore. Creating another series of it from the scratch is nearly impossible, with the current KONAMI as it is. Do we want KONAMI to release Suikoden VI with a horrible story? Or just with "OMFG THE GRAPHIC ARE SO REAL AND AWESOME" we will be happy with Suikoden VI? Well, I'm not. My brain telling me to move on from this, but I can't lie to my own heart. :(

yeah( problem is since suikoden is prety big with so many characters and stuff to make it for new consoles it gonna be very chalenging and expensive and i dont think they gonna do it exept if they sell the rigths to some other company or Murayama do a kick starter and gather few talented ppl for a game that will look like suikoden 2 or 3 that the last is the most possible tho still slim chance murayama have been questioned about it and it left mewith a impression that its not impossible to happen konami cares about money same stuff happened with shemmue when sammy grabed sega.. lead and suzuki left the project while it ment to end with shemmue 5 or 6

Probably the best alternative would be to sell the rights of Suikoden to someone who might use it in the correct. Heck, even to Square Enix, as long as they would try to gather as many people as they can from the original staff, but that is all very unlikely. It really saddens me, as Suikoden had so much potential...

Major game of my childhood. I played it a lot and spent so many hours talking my father's ear off about it. Honestly want to get Soul Eater and Rune of Punishment tattoos in his honor. For all the memories we shared! ^_^

suikoden were so deep and soulfull with so many things to do the oposite is ff 13 lol still suikoden 2 is by far the best folowed by 5 or 3 or 1 depend on who you ask i like 5 and 3 then 4 and then 1

Are the gaidens available in English?

I never got chance to play 1 or 2 live in US and never found copy, but love 3,4, tactics, and 5. Wish they’d come out with a six. Also put 1-5 on ps4. So I could go through 1 and 2

Favorite fact was about Max. I didn’t necessarily like suikoden 4 battle system, nonetheless it was a great story and connection piece to the considering jeans, Vicki, and ted history.

i prefered 4 over 5 actually

as a hardcore suikoden series fan, i agree suiko 4 is the worst of all, but i never hated it, i even finished it 3 times with perfect ending

I like Suikoden 4 because, Lazlo can be swapped to another character in party leader.

Suikoden 4 was good imho (made even better with the tie-in to Tactics). Tbh the animation, graphics and motion capture was impressive for a game at its time; problem is, the motions for battle looked silly and weak and didn't make it feel epic when you were battling. Also, the 4 member party meant that you get less out of your SoD's at any one time. If Suikoden 4 was made the same way Suikoden 2 was made, the game would be a hundred times better.

tho with suikoden 4 the old team were disbanded the creator like kojima is for metal gear for suikoden 2 was murayama that wasent lead creator in suikoden 3 instead they gave the postition to a woman and murayama left before suikoden 3 was completed unhappy with the turn it too and he disagreed with many things suikoden 4 were made by a new team thats why it felt so difrent after that team learned they tried to make a game similar to suikoden 2 and that was suikoden 5 but after team was disbanded again...

Suikoden 4 is great minus the encounter rate if you want to play tho it again use cheats so you can stop the encounters temporarily.

For me suikoden 4 is quite good actually, btw does lino not know lazlo is his son until the end?

The biggest flaws about Suikoden 4 are a shortened storyline (it should have continued to the end of the Kooluk empire, as in Tactics), underdeveloped characters (Graham Cray had the potential to be a more intelligent version of Luca Blight), too much sea traveling and lack of design detail in the different islands (they look like boring places to live). The best points about it is that it features one of the most tragic true runes, features one of the coolest leaders seen in a Suikoden game to date imo (Lino en Kuldes), you get Ted's backstory, you can build your own armour (if you're into that), cool combined attacks, and the general advantage that it's a canon Suikoden game taking place in the same universe.

No just it's Yuber and Pesmerga because he's like the Joker of suikoden and where many of us know little to nothing facts about him, other than stealing the crimson armor from Pesmerga who's like Batman always after chasing Yuber, or the true nature of his eightfold rune. It just by ironic that ironic that Georg has deep ties with the franchise along with the Silverbergs, Maximilian Knights, and the true runes. I just thought the Island Federation is a great easter egg because nobody knows where Georg is from originally other than his story starts with Ferid. I see Georg more now like Wolverine from X-man and Gutz's character from Berserk moving from place to place being a merc dark past ride or die with their friends easily etc

This game is very interesting, a kind of maritime RPG. But as a Suikoden game I think is still half-finished.

i actually liked suikoden 4. the only thing i disliked was sailing. The mahjong minigame is so addictive!!!

I like the game, yes, but it is really weak compared to the other 4 games, I really don't understand why they decided Suikoden Tactics to be a direct sequel of the worst Suikoden in the Franchise, they could have told the High east rebellion story in that one, what a wasted opportunity. I also hated the fact this game was a prequel, and as much as I love Suikoden 5, it is a shame they never continued the story, especially when they had two chances to do it.

suikoden has poor mechanic, but has good story for ps2... battle mechanic is worse than suikoden 3 where attack type didnt really matter in the battle with 4 chara in party. battleship battle still good war battle unlike suikoden 3 where battle in normal battle and in pretty fast pace.

this is where a great series fell. the creator left. small party size. boring characters. its a prequel. boring plot. main characters rune wasnt interesting, music was a let down.

The Rune of Punishment was pretty damn interesting, it kills the user, but its final spell is a HEALING one. Kinda fits Lazlo's true ending once he masters the rune.
