@@sausanrajulisman4501 There are two types of rights you can have over a song. Song writer credit amd owning the master of recording. Of you have song writer rights you can re-record it if you want, but if it sounds exactly the same you have to give royalties to the person who owns the masters. Which is probably why Taylor's Version sounds different.

I love how the songs have captured both perspectives. This is the perspective of the wife whos given her entire life to him while Taylor's version captures her view of how he probably does not love his wife and really thinks he loves her and they arent going to be cheating. Then she realises that its not true.

The original song isn't about a husband and wife, it's about Jake cheating on Taylor, but when she gave it to Sugarland they made it into their own which is cool that they made it their own

I like both versions of this song, but I think I'm always going to prefer this one more. The vocals here are angrier and more powerful and match the tone of the song better, and it sounds more complete with the harmonies on the chorus, and that last chorus with everyone singing on top of each other! It just sounds SOOOO good!!!! No hate on Taylor's version though.

Sugarland's version sounds like anger because they're portraying the legal wife. Whilst on Taylor's version, she's portraying the mistress - that's why she sounded disappointed. Plus the, "what about your promises, promises?" part

Folklore: love triangle from Red is one track 2, 8, 14 - all 6 apart - and 6 is mirrorball and she's still in love with 'the 1' and she's still hoping that 'the 1' sees her and she still wants to show 'the 1' that they are meant for each other

That may be true, but Jennifer Nettles/Sugarland, in my opinion, is one of this worlds best kept secrets. This may not be her best 'vocal work' on a song, but she can belt out way more than this song allows her to, she is fantastic.

I was hoping someone would comment about how their voices (unexpected for me), blended so well together. Reminded me of Halsey and Kelsea Ballerini, in the sense that Halsey's voice is quite distinct and her music is not as "young country", but grittier. But when they did a show together it somehow really worked well.

You can tell this is a Taylor Swift song because that bridge is great. I cannot wait for Babe (Taylor's Version).

After listening to the T.V. Of this song I feel like this “original” version (is it technically the original?), with the music video, beautifully encapsulates both sides of this story. The wife and the mistress both end up in the same feelings not being able to have the man. It’s truly a masterpiece as a duet or a solo song.

Also the video has a letter dating to 1965, 31 years before that, Bonnie and Clyde died, reverse 31 and you get 13. Also the ending of the video, Jennifer, the innocent wife ok whereas Taylor, the other woman is left completely broken, “Us traitors never win”. With all of this, I have a suspicion that Getaway Car will be the next MV from reputation.

This is the storyline as I understand it: Simply, he’s a married man that has a side chick who meets up with her every once in a while (you can tell from the way they were looking at each other in the front of the elevator & the way people looked at the sidechick (Taylor) when she got up to see him) Taylor, knows that he is married (from the way she looked at his wife when she left the room) but she still in a relationship with him anyway. On the other side, there’s a typical married house-wife, cooks dinner, buys groceries and brings a little cake to her husband office. She caught them (we didn’t know how many times she has, because she looked at the women in unsure way, but she knew it) The husband felt weird, and left his wife alone and go out with his sidechick, and spend the night with her, and also break up with her and the end (Taylor was crumbling up a piece of paper in the last scenes of her, it means that this man let her have some romantic feelings towards him) and the wife, while she is spending the night alone, reading his old love letters and looking at their pictures, realizing that she have to leave now, and left him alone. The ending symbolizes every man who cheats: being terribly alone at the end.

Taylor's voice really suits this song. Mostly because it reminds me of her old country/rock songs from her fearless/speak now/red albums which contain the old Taylor vibe. Not to delete her new style entirely, but I wish she would do more songs in this style/genre; it honestly fits her voice so well
