Sugarcane Bud Chipper
This innovation developed by Roshan Lal Vishwakarma helps chip sugarcane buds, reduce wastage and is low on maintenance. In the conventional method of sowing sugarcane, either the whole cane is sown or it is cut into sets and sown. Alternatively, this device can chip buds efficiently and the buds chipped using this method can be used directly for plantation.
Empirical research showed that 100% sprouting was achieved when sowing happened through poly bags and 80-90% when it was showed directly into the field. After adopting to this method, production of 480 quintals per hectare was achieved as against 400 quintals using the traditional method, thus increasing productivity of sugar farm. Even the cost of cultivation came down by 25% while the net profit per hectare went up by 163%. The benefit to cost ration after using this machine was 3.35 as against 1.66 before.

Roshan lal Vishwakarmas innovation of sugarcane bud chipper machines , not only brought down the cost of seeds by to 2.5 per cent for another season but also increased productivity and and more sugarcane now there for more sugar. More profit, better incomes , better lives for the farmers. We need more such innovations 👍. Thankyou Nabard team for the awareness.
