Credit to him for saying no to Suella. But don't agree that membership should be allowed to vote. If it were not for the membership, the Conservative party would have had sane leadership and be a lot stronger than they were post-2016. Ultimately political parties should be wary of entryism. There's a strong argument for trusting the wisdom and continuity of the parliamentary party and the long-standing party machinery.

Reality is, were it not for the membership, Sunak would probably have been nowhere near as right wing. He would have also withdrawn the whip from her long ago. Sooner the conservative party has the courage to stand up to its - quite frankly out of touch and at times ghastly - membership, the sooner it will get its auhtority back in British politics.

They are the ones who serve the public, who make government work for the people. And when anyone pretends they are serving a political ideology, that only means they won’t bend to serve *that person’s* ideology. They’re neutral, and neutrality from civil servants is the one thing fascists simply can’t have.

Braverman THE ONLY TORY who said Sorry with resl conviction. Mark Francois said Boris, his advisors reneged on deals with Brexit party and treated Farage very very badly after he stepped aside.

_"Suella Braverman slammed as too 'divisive' to lead Tory Party"_ This view is a massive misjudgement & is *EXACTLY* why the Conservative Party was voted out. Do nothing "Blairite-lite" Conservatives in name only - long on rhetoric, short on action... Note : The presenter is talking nonsense about the Lib Dems, their vote flatlined, they got more seats for the same reason Labour did, i.e. the Conservative vote collapsed.
