The bravery of James and Charles in this is amazing. To sing a song like that, to your dying father, and for his father to sit with him, is immense. They’re both very English high ranking ex armed forces, so I guess their bravery is part of them. James is a beautiful soul. One of our national treasures 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧❤️

@@hecticreactionYes, as a result of this video going viral thousands of people came forward as donors. Charles got his transplant during Covid lockdowns, and is still quite well.

James dad was actually dying from kidney disease & this was his tribute & farewell to his dad. Thankfully his dad received a donor kidney & is doing okay now. If this song doesn't get to you emotionally, there is something wrong with you. This song resonates with me as I was my dad's caregiver for 5 years until he passed away a few years ago.

I’m so sorry about that! I can’t even imagine. Hope you are hanging in there and staying strong after your loss. This song is so touching, really beautiful. Great to hear that his dad made it through though, that’s inspiring.

@@hecticreaction It is also worth mentioning that this video saved his father's life. His dad, who only had one kidney because he had donated one of his years ago, was on the donor list, but because of his age, he wasn't considered a high priority patient, as organs go to younger patients first. They were told it was unlikely he'd receive a kidney in time to save him. James and his sisters all offered to give their dad one of their kidneys, but after testing, they discovered they were the wrong blood type. So James made this video, and a cousin who was living in Australia saw it and wound up donating one of his kidneys to James' dad. In a strange twist of fate, the cousin shared the same name as James' dad: Charles Blount.

I've watched 10+ reactions and yours is my favorite reaction video, thank you for being so raw and honest with your opinion. I love the line I'm not your son you're not my father because to me it strips it down to them basically being two human beings with love and admiration for each other, I did go through this with both my parents at different times, and one thing I took from it at the time and right afterwards is really how beautiful life is we're only here for a blip of time, take care of yourself and thank you.
