Succulent Propagation- Growing Tips and Troubleshooting with Sucs for You

If you've tried propagating in the past but didn't have much luck, I'm going to discuss the main reasons and solutions to problems I've encountered personally and heard about from others.
Whether you are seeing roots but no new leaves, leaves but no roots, or no growth at all, water, light, and growing seasons are the top factors in successful propagation. Once you have a clear idea of why those matter, you'll be able to troubleshoot the problems you may be running into.

My girlfriend put out a bowl in the garden with some succulents in it years ago and since then, they have spread like wildfire and migrated outside the bowl! I think it's amazing how great these plants are at surviving and reproducing. The plants somehow survive through our northeastern winters too! I really dont know how they do it...

Your hair is beautiful, man. And I’m near Houston so it gives me hope as a new grower that your plants are all so healthy.

I noticed that patience is the key to success. I left my leaves to dry on top of dry soil and only after a month they actually STARTED growing roots. It takes time. I'll see how it goes!

This video answered all my questions plus more! You shared a ton of useful tip. Those who are new to propagating have got to watch this video first to set them on the right path. I’ll be watching this one repeatedly during the propagation of my “fat babies”. Thank you Andrea.

With propagating succulents, I think the keys are patience and neglect. I put the leaves in a plant pot saucer filled with perlite and just leave them alone. A few months later most of the leaves have grown baby plants with roots. Eventually the leaves that have become new plants shrivel up and the baby drops off by itself.
