He currently has a vocal range of 7,7 octaves (C1(B0) - D8 off the piano) At least what he has shown us so far. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. And meanwhile in 13 languages (the new one is Ikanaide in Japanese). But many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and rare interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague, before he performed his song War and Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And I absolutely believe this. SOS was the first performance of the China competition and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. He was noticed because he had already won some important competitions, for example in Belarus. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. The next day he was a megastar in China. @@successfulbob Geoff Castellucci is absolutely amazing. I love his cover of The Misty Mountains song from The Hobbits. But Dimash doesn't sing quite as deep and constant. He is known for the fact that his songs very often cover several octaves. However, Dimash's range goes more into the higher tones. I love his low notes and am always happy when he sings so low. I think he could do that more often. Maybe Stranger would be something for you, as it shows a large part of his range in a single song. But it would be better if you first got to know him with the older songs and then listen to the newer songs. The "old" songs are amazing enough, but he's gotten so much better in the last 5 years. He's a workhorse. He is constantly working on training and improving his voice. My Save Stranger and the newer songs for a little later. It's worth waiting for a bit. Bob, this is the performance thru which I discovered Dimash back in 2017. Dimash was the first ever non-Chinese special invitee to participate in this contest of established Chinese professional singers from different genres competing for the title of Chinese Singer of the Year. Dimash was also, at 21-22 yo, the youngest ever contestant to participate. Dimash OPENED the annual 14 week competition with this performance of his signature song, SOS. Dimash was a virtual unknown to both the audience and his competitors. Can you imagine the pressure? Singing one of the most difficult FRENCH songs to a Mandarin speaking audience as an young unknown from Kazakhstan? As a result, he became an overnight sensation requiring bodyguards throughout the competition. He finished second mainly due to the fact that he wasnt Chinese. The resulting uproar due to his rank, pressed the show I Am Singer, to change the rules the following year. After the contest, a Dimash album was released which through on line sales went platinum in under a minute and triple platinumn in under an hour. Welcome to Dimash world! You haven’t seen anything jet!!! This is about 1/3 or so what he can do! Please react to the same songs but from different places and times because he changes them a bit every time please also watch the hole videos through because something might happen just that time…(Like Dimash hitting a D8!!! Yepp higher then the piano can go!!!) It's so fun for us "Dears" (that’s what Dimash calls his fans because he loves us as a dear family) to see how people react to him. Some info about Dimash. He is born in May 24 1994. He is from Kazakhstan and has been music schooled sense 5 years old and told the teacher that the piano was out of tune! He sings about 7 octaves or so! No one knows he is still learning. He sings higher than the piano can go! He also writs and compose own songs, plays bunch of instruments including Dombra there own Kazakh instrument that has a sound you can’t believe and onley 2 strings! He also sings in about 14 (Kazakh, Turkish, Usceck, Russian, Ukranian, Serbien, Bulgarian Chinese , Italien, Spamish, French, English, German, Japanese ) languages and speaks 3 so far (Kazakh, Russian and English). Dimash has an excellent education: he graduated from the College of Music with a degree in Opera Singing, university of arts in the specialty "Estrada and jazz vocals", and on June 18, 2020, he completed a master's degree in Composition. He graduated with a degree in opera from the music school at the University of Aktobe (2014), a degree in pop/jazz from the National Arts University in Nur Sultan (2018), just completed his Master's degree in composition (June 2020) and have started his PhD. He have done some contests in his life but the one I think got the worlds intension is "The Singer" (Allso called "I am a singer" or "Singer") from China in 2017. The Singer is a program for established Chinese singers to face off against each other invites only in a competition where votes were cast by an audience of 500. Dimash Qudaibergen was a last-minute inclusion (a 'dark horse'). But his performance of 'SOS D'un Terrien En Detresse' electrified the audience, his fellow competitors and the viewers who numbered in the billions (this program was one of the most-watched in China and outside). They also got him the nickname "Imported little brother" the day after the show. They also had to get bodyguard for Dimash do to the famous over night both in China and also the world. Dimash wasn’t really prepared for that. He had come to China at 22 years young man by him self and didn’t know the language. They hade contracted him for 2 shows because they didn’t think he cold go further than that. He didn’t think they would like him. So he was nervous this performers that he had also to start the show with. But they hade to change that do to his famous over night. Dimash got many new friends from this show and he said at some point he learned a lot from it to. @@successfulbob I discovered him just months after my wife and companion of 57 years passed away five years ago. My one regret is that she never got to hear his voice, because she would have been just as smitten by Dimash as I've been. Enjoy what you have yet to listen to and see from him Bobby mate, it wil be a revelation I promise you.

Dimash has numerous versions of SOS and every Dear has his/her favorite. I still like this Singer version most. The first song I heard from Dimash was Opera 2, which shocked me totally, and the second was this. It was mesmerizing and I lost my sense of reality. It took weeks to recover. My other favorite is the one from Slavic Bazaar. I even hallusinated a bird hovering near Dimash's mouth! Later, of course, I realized that it was the microphone...But for me, it was a lark. I hope your journey has an easier start, but the same result: happy addiction!
