Some people said that Germany struggled because they couldn't produce world class players in some position, but definitely not the striker department. Fullkrug looks class. Almost got an assist from the Pascal attempt, scored himself and he did get an assist eventually for Musiala's goal. Even in the shambolic displays during the past world Cup campaign he already looked solid and ready to score.

Fullkrug regularly starting is some good signs of progress and Muller playing behind him would be the best thing

The attacking patterns were already different and more effective than the one dimensional football played by Low and Flick, however there are still issue at defense that need to be adressed as well as in the double pivot. In the opening phase the U.S front three enjoyed exploiting space between defensive line and double pivot of gundogan-Groß. But with a win and some positives it will be interesting to see how Nagelsmann's reign shape up for Euros next year

Nagelsmann has unlocked the key secret that somehow neither Low nor Flick could decipher. If you play a striker, it unlocks room for your other attacking weapons. It doesn't need to be a world class striker, just someone who can win balls and draw in defenders with a physical presence. Mandzukic at Bayern was evidence of this, hell, Choupo Moting at Bayern was even bigger evidence. Fullkrug was always good enough, and he can pass and dribble, but he was benched or ignored while Gnabry, Werner, Sane, Gundogan and all sorts of other weird misused players were forced to play up front as though real life were a game of FIFA.

Lichtenstein is not US, US beaten Germany 2-1 back in year 2015. The "did" not necessarily means only the result, but the players selection and lineups. For instance, Füllkrug started the game instead of the role of Flick's idea, a bench warmer/a substitute. Besides that, the bold selections like Behrens (attacking midfielder/Striker), Andrich (midfielder), and debut of winger Führich, not too obsess to include EPL's merchants like Flick, that's the differences. 👌😉

Unfortunately our US coach sucks. While this team is young (avg age of 23-24) this is the most talented team we have ever had and we have a b tier coach in MLS in charge instead of a coach of the caliber of Naglesmann.
