In this video I go back to the range to see how this rifle does, after having fixed the scope problem.

Lol, I love me some Toyota trucks! I'm going to have to repaint that ol girl. The hood and top are faded pretty bad but for an 05 I'm still tickled with it! Thanks for watching and commenting! God bless

I can honestly say that biggest problem with this gun in my opinion is the scope bases. I would suggest getting a 1 piece base to be more adjustable for eye relief. But keep in mind some bases have different screw thread patterns. I don't know right off what they are. Thanks for watching and commenting! God bless

Look at the ruger american, 7mm 08. Under 500.00 price tag. Winchester has the xpr 7mm 08. New for around 515.00.

I don't dis agree with those rifles. I intended to buy the gen 2 Ruger American but at the time they were on back order. I'm trying to decide on what winchester xpr I want to try. But both are on the list to try as I can! But for lower 48 and on the east coast 7mm-08 is in my top 5 go to calibers! Thanks for watching and commenting! God bless

Is that a bipod mounted to the rifle while shooting from the rest? I noticed from shot to shot it varies in placement. Rifle can’t recoil the same. Take it off next time and see if it helps.

Yeah it was. I shot 2 other rifles that day and just didn't take it off. Paid for it with one of the other rifles by smashing a finger between bipod and rest upon firing a moderate recoil rifle.

Im on the fence right now.. buying my first long range bolt action rifle this week (more for the purpose of learning long range precision shooting as opposed to hunting) and currently my 3 top options right now are: Savage 110 Engage Hunter XP 22" barrel with scope combo - in .308 Remington 783 Tactical 24" Heavy Barrel Threaded - in .308 Ruger American Standard 22" barrel in .308 All 3 of these rifles are roughly in the same price range - which one would you suggest? Personally, I am strongly leaning towards getting the Remington 783 HBT in .308 Some people have also told me that they feel the Savage 110 platform is just a superior platform while all of the others like the Remington and Ruger are all pretty much based off of the Savage Axis platform of rifles. Yours and anyone else's personal advice would be most welcomed.

I haven't shot the 783 tactical but standard 783 did pretty well. I do think that the Ruger or Savage is a really good starter. I am also working to push my limits out farther. The 308 is a great caliber and not to expensive to shoot. But I wouldn't totally dismiss a 6.5 creedmoor mostly because of availability and and it is easier to stay in the gun and spot your shots. For me the money and adjustability, I would look at the Ruger american gen 2. I really appreciate you watching and commenting. God bless

How do you remove the bolt ? I hope Savage abandoned the type where you gotta pull the trigger and push on the safety That's an awful design

I couldn't find a 1 piece base at the local shops. So wanting to get a follow-up out on this gun I settled with leaving the 2 piece base and getting a set of sig saur medium height scope rings.

EGW, Warne, Leupold, DNZ products, and many other companies make affordable excellent quality one piece bases. Edit to add: Warne has mounts in stock on their website, AND they have a 20% off code, AND $5 flat rate shipping.

I couldn't find one locally but really wanted to get the rifle back to the range. I work full time so range time is as I can get it. I went with Sig Saur rings . Worked well, but yeah it really needs a good one piece base to really fix it. Thanks for watching and commenting. God bless
