We brought all the kitties in, we sit between 2 townships and we get the noise of both fireworks and neighbors also. I love panels!!!! Santa is adorable.

Thoughts and prayers for your hubbys speedy recovery. I'm sorry for dandelion. Thankfully, I live in a rural area. My dogs are used to loud bangs. There is a gun range down the road so they hear it all the time and don't care. I personally love the 4th of July and think it should be celebrated.

The Martell box was great… my dogs dislike loud noises one goes into the closet the other is in a panic till over. We have tried a lot of things to calm him so for nothing works… good luck withTom’s procedure. Have a good week.

I was really happy with my first order of batting from the batting folks, but not so thrilled with the subscription box. With the order, they included a 7 page download of ways to use batting scraps, which was useful. They also added a single serving powder for a grape drink mix with extra caffeine that I loved lots more than the Dum Dum suckers in their subscription box. Hoping all goes well with your husband!

I agree about the fireworks and how it affects vets,the elderly and our poor pets. I had my share of hot dogs, potato salad and beans 😊 I am sorry to hear about Tom’s health issues. I will be praying that all will go well. Grandmothers’ rule! Great idea. Glad Martelli ended with a good box.

I absolutely love the grandma chat idea! I wish my grandma was still with us! She had so much wisdom from living 92 years and had a difficult life but was always so happy! I’m a Santa gal and I absolutely adore the Santa panel!! Not crazy about metallic fabric but I wonder if it would soften up with washing! I have love all my Martelli purchases! You can put the 12/12 mat on a lazy Susan and use it like a rotating mat! The cup holder would come in super handy depending on how large the holders are! I have a lanyard that I keep all my usb storage clip to! I also love myself a good Pen! In fact, I have quite a collection of them! I do have a needle holder similar to that that I keep in my EPP project bag! Thanks for sharing all of the boxes! I’m super excited to see what you think about the actual Open Gate box!❤

I agree about fireworks my kitties pile on me in fear. I just pet them and tell them it will be OK. Around here, they were still blowing them up. Hope they stop soon. The Grandma idea is fantastic! The Martelli box was kind of cool. Loved the clamps on cup holder. I hope your husband gets through his kidney stone removal well. I had it done and spent another 2 weeks in pain passing the pieces. They did not make them small enough. Hope your husband has better luck. Kidney stone pain is right up there with labor pains. Try and have a good day. See younext video.

Hi Holly! I'm glad the fireworks happen only once a year. Sorry...poor dandelion. I have a medium sized chijuajua named Phillip. He's fine as long as he's with me. Lovely Marelli box. You look great today...so elegant! Oh ! You made that little boy so happy!

Poor Dandelion. I sat in the bathroom at night with my dog. He has meds to take too. I play a TV show on a speaker, the bathroom fan is running along with another one. I take in a dog bed and a comfy chair for me. I watch things on my laptop and work on a cross stitch or sewing project. Can't forget our snacks and drinks. He only had to have a half dose of meds one night. The other nights he was fine just being in there with me. I have been doing this for the last 10 years or so. I started this with our one dog who has since crossed the rainbow bridge and am continuing with her buddy. Hopefully you can find a space place for Dandelion like I did. Hugs.

Hi Holly. I liked this Martelli box. Lots of usable tools versus the one template boxes in the past. I love the Glide thread. I went to a "Quilters yard sale" this weekend... it was amazing and I bought a set of martelli templates for circles for $2. So my weekend was a blast, now it's off to work. Yuck lol. I love the grandma story! The batting box doesn’t do it for me either. The Fabric Bash box looks good. I liked the fabric and the extras. I hadn’t thought of making my own shower curtain. Martelli was an interesting assortment of items. Some good, some meh. It looks like your grandson loved his quilt! I hope Tom’s procedure goes well and he recovers quickly.

Hi Holly, sending good mojo to Tom for his procedure. That gold, snowflake is from Joanne Fabric. I had some for a project where I needed stiff fabric. Definitely not great fabric. I liked the shower curtain idea, but wished they would have picked a more neutral fabric. Not sure how many people have that color scheme. I like some of the items in the Martelli box. I'd never use the table cup holder though. That's why I typically just watch and then buy what I like. My dog hates the fireworks too. It's so sad.

Holly and wishes!!! I have always enjoyed and loved fireworks- God Bless the USA, and yes worth celebrating🇺🇸. HOWEVER know that I do have sympathy for those persons and pets who it does affect. Our dog Jake isn’t keen on the idea, but I think we’ve given him Benadryl a couple of times. For him it eases it and he’s fine. The boxes- I find it very interesting that these 3 in particular had bits and pcs for each of us; according to the comments at least😜. Thank you for sharing them with us, your $, time and knowledge are a blessing to us🥰 Zen that quilt is as beautiful as his smile👏👏👏 mission accomplished! Prayers that all goes well for y’all in the medical world. Have a good one 🙏🏻✝️❤️😀

Halloween thread

Good morning & happy Monday! Holly, I hear ya when it comes to the 4th of July; it's definitely not a favorite holiday in the Owen household. We've been sedating the dogs every evening for the past week, and on the 4th itself they got dosed twice. And fireworks aren't even legal around here which makes the cacophany even more perplexing/annoying. Happily the rest of the weekend was good. Your backyard is very busy this morning! Several squirrels, birds at the feeder, the breeze blowing the trees a bit every now & then, and everything is so green & pretty. Just a really nice view :-) Quilt Box - I would have been so disappointed to receive this box, especially in summertime. That big Santa is just a little too "in your face," especially if one doesn't celebrate Christmas. A nice winter scene would have been lovely - leafless trees in the snow with chickadees or grosbeaks on the branches and some holly bushes at the base, or a warm indoor scene with a cosy fireplace, overstuffed armchair, and a steaming cup of tea on the table. But that's all just personal preference; objectively, you do get a complete kit sent in plenty of time to make it before the holiday arrives, so I do give them credit in that regard. Fabric Bash - what a delight! This month's box really stands out in a crowd, with four spools of lovely thread (doesn't that green just make your mouth water? It's like a ripe Pippin apple), a pattern I've not seen in any other subscription box, and cute labels. Oh, and the tips on rotary blade care/usage, mustn't forget that. Putting the wool mat in plastic & adding an allergy warning was quite thoughtful. And the fabric. Dear lord, that fabric is GORGEOUS. It's a little surprising that none of the threads match it, but that's a minor thing compared to how awesome the rest of the box is. Martelli - I find this one to be....well, perplexing. What's the point of the tableside cup holder? Just put the cup on the table. Use a ruler to cut your 2-1/2" x 12" strips. An eraser will get threads off your mat; do you really need two special tools to clean it? The lanyard & sticker are basically marketing items one would expect to find on the freebie table at a quilt show or convention. Still, there are some nice things in there, too. The tweezers are good, and the squeeze snips look like they'd be easier on the hands than a more traditional handle/grip. The pens are useful, too.

I liked the grandma idea. I would enjoy doing that, also. The drive might be a little difficult. I dont have anyone nearby who would like to talk and listen to me.

I didn't like the quilt box. This month's martelli was good but i agree not to get it. Hope your husband feels better soon.
