This review is exactly what I needed - thank you for breaking down all the differences between the Classic and Storybook bodies, I read they were different but have been staring between them online like, "How though? They look the same!" The new torso reminds me of ILY's proportions. I love that they gave them all a little more girth in the limbs too. And the quality difference you've showcased here with Ariel has totally changed my mind about whether or not I want her - I was mostly interested in Snow, Aurora and Mulan but seeing the new seashell top up close and the finished details on her tail, the upgrades that are vague in promo shots are very striking in your close-up comparisons. Thank you so much for taking the time to show her off, I'm looking forward to your reviews for the rest of the line!

Thank you for reviewing the Ariel. I love the new storybook collection even more. Tip: can you take a crochet hook into the parks? If so get one of those steel ones used for lace sizes 0-4. They are great for getting knots open. An aluminum sock knitting needle would work as well. I am surprised no scissors are allowed, but then there is other cutting options if you are a knitter/crocheter, that are TSA (airport) approved. I absolutely love the second outfit and accessories I have been looking at all of them on the online store. 10$ for a whole fashion pack is a really good price, the ILY ones are 14.99 and the ILY pure accessories ones are 16.99. So can the new Ariel share shoes with the ILY dolls and Barbie dolls? Not a deal breaker just curious, I really love her new pearly shoes they look like they have seashells on them.

I'll have to look into those crochet hooks. As of right now I think I might be able to cut the twine with fingernail clippers, and I've been allowed to bring those into Disneyland before. The new Disney classic dolls have the same foot size as the previous version, which means the feet are much smaller than the ILY dolls, although with the new proportions they should be able to wear the ILY clothing much better than before.

Chad when do you go to Disneyland because I really want to know if they have these dolls at Disneyland or if they keep the old classic dolls if so please make a video or a short I would appreciate it so much love your vids❤

She is fair skinned, so maybe a purple top, or the tennis player? Shoot could also work for one of the earlier pink top made to move before they changed the skin tone to be more tan. I haven't done skin tone comparisons to know for sure though.

Is this ariel doll can really bent her knees? Just curious..cuz It looks scary tho how u bent her knees like it was broke her knees inside 😅

I don't have all of the made to move dolls to compare two, however, if you want to put her on a "original" size body, the purple top is the closest match that I could find. And if you want her to be curvy, you can put her on the pink floral yoga made to move. I'm not sure about tall options, although I think there is a tall option in a similar skin tone maybe in the bmr1959 are Barbie looks possibly. The closest petite option I could find was Barbie looks number 3, but the skin tone is a little to Pink to match Ariel, and I'm not sure if there is another petite option in this lighter pale skin tone.

​@@ChadMarvelous... Another content creator found that the BMR 59 line has an Asian made to move that closely matches Ariel's head of those cheapest Ariel play line 2023 Mattel dolls. I see $5.07 USD Amazon listings for the cheap heads dolls for swapping the heads ... But the BMRs are $29.99 USD for the bodies (or that articulated Asian girl body). It seems like this body of the $29.99 USD Disney Store doll has the single outfit version at $19.99 USD to do that head swap to body? Correct? The overall eyes looking up to the surface of the water is done well in that cheap play line one from like 7 months ago.

You can try wrapping a small rubber band around the neck peg so that way it doesn't have as much wiggle room.

Not surprised they went the cheep way with the games on the box ... They could have made a colorful illustration to display the doll . But NO COMPANY will do anything extra for the fans anymore !!!!! But how nice you got a doll !!! But im still gonna be honest about the way companies crap on buyers in 2023 .... i keep it real ..❤

I disagree. The back of the does a good job at displaying the product and what comes with it, then underneath is a second layer for kids to be able to color in and do activities which they could have simply not included, yet they added it on when they didn't have to. I in no way see this as the manufacturer "crapping on buyers" as you put it. If anything, the quality of the outfits and accessories has gone up, in conjunction with them redesigning the dolls bodies. I think the box design is interesting, but really what I care about is the dolls seeing as how I'm going to recycle the packaging anyway.
