I agree with you about the seamoth (reapers always munch on them, leaving you completely harmless), but the cyclops?? I don't think a reaper has ever attacked my cyclops, but it's also true that I never ventured into their territory into a cyclop :)

From the game lore, I assumed the cyclops was used only on worlds with liquid seas. Not really a space ship but perfect for exploring worlds like water worlds.

The Cyclops uses a turbine, a turbine that would not work in space. Pressurised air is necessary to move yourself around in space, hence NASA introducing small jetpack devices. The Seamoth can do this, likely a mix between turbine and pressurised air, turbine for water, air for space, or perhaps there is no turbine and in fact the Seamoth uses pressurised air for both water and space, which is possible. The Cyclops is solely sea, supported by it's design, aerodynamics are essentially useless in such a scenario, pressurised air doesn't move you very fast so having a smoothed out design isn't necessary. It is for the Seamoth though as it's sea AND space.

Subnautica is one of those games On my first time playing it took me 37 hours to get the prawn On my second time playing it took me 5 and a half hours to get the the prawn

Fun Fact: I Created A Sonar Upgrade For My Cyclops And Seamoth, Since I Use Them The Most, But I Didn’t Know How To Use The Upgrades Throughout The Entire Game, And I Finally Learned How To Use Them When I Went Back To My Save After Completing The Game.

I can totally see the sea moths on the concept art being different variants. 3A is the standard civilian version 3B is a military version 3C is a police variant 3D ( the seatruck) and 3E (the sea moth we all know and love) are utility variants.

the best vehicle for usability is the cyclops, mobile food source, built in lockers, portable oxygen, and dont forget the vehicle housing that can optionally repair with a module. the seamoth for speed and maneuverability, and the prawn for its drilling ability, and depth.

One thing I did notice, is that at the end of the game, you don’t owe alterra, alterra owes you, if you listen closer, she says “once you settle your OUTSTANDING BALANCE of one one trillion credits.

Yeah, "outstanding balance" literally means debt :)

I went waaaaaaaaay out into the void using a cyclops so the ghost leviathan left me alone and by the time I got back in the playable area the Aurora exploded

the point about Ryley being able to pilot the Cyclops, it's only a matter of experience and practice. I bumped into a whole heap of stuff on my first run, I'd imagine it's the same for him but eventually he learns how to properly pilot it making him on par with an experienced helmsman who had official training.

@@TheLastBacon Well it's a rather expensive piece of equipment so I'd assume hours of training are needed. Better safe than sorry.

When I first crafted the cyclops I didn't think it would be that big and I was at least half the size of my base (my base has 7 multipurpose room 2 moon pools 1 scaner room 3 corridors and 1 observatory)

Also the degasi crew we know the had 1 prawn suit we don't know when it was make but margirete does have one so did they have and seamoths or a cyclops because you don't find any or see any at any of there bases

You can actually get all of the prawn suit schematic peices in the aurora if you put out a few of the fires in the prawn bay.

Thank you :) I think I only fully finished the game twice actually.

These would be cool to pilot in space since I read in a PDA entry that these are used for water and space travel. Could be a good setting for a third game but then it would turn into a space explorer game.

I feel like the grapple arm on the prawn suit is super hard to use ;) thats why i bring a my cyclops to the lava zone, deep grand reef, and lost river to pick it up :)
