To anyone who reads this, the tree cove is one of the best locations to build an endgame base due to a complete lack of hostile mobs and a huge amount and variety of resources present in the grime and walls. Bringing most resources to grow such as acid shrooms and kelp and several heat vents and uranium and lead for power youll have no need to leave the area and prepare your journey to the lava zone.

Here’s my first experience at the lost river (just like the other two, this just happened.) I was in one of the Blood Kelp zones looking for rubies when I encountered the Crater’s Edge. I did panic a little bit but I have encountered no ghost leviathans UNTIL I go through a cave. When I go through the cave, the first thing I saw was the silhouette of a ghost leviathan. After exploring for a bit I saw reaper leviathan skeletons and a sea dragon skeleton. I found some rubies next to it but I decided to explore more. Next thing I know is my seamoth saying “Maximum depth reached, ascend ASAP!” I decided to leave the lost river after that. When arriving to the surface level, I found myself in the bulb zone. Knowing what happened yesterday, (check the reaper leviathan lore video for the story) I spammed my sonar to make sure there wasn’t a reaper nearby. I have sworn to not go down through the lost river until I have gotten a P.R.A.W.N suit.

The Coven Tree Zone is truly the most epic. I recently built my first base there after somehow managing to get a cyclops in there. The thing is that once you are somewhat build up in Lost River it gets very easy because of all the Large Resource Deposits if you have Prawn Suit w Drill Arm.

Cool video as always! The lost river is so vast and complex that I doubt one could find every detail and that is what is great about it. :D Here are a few extras I think are interesting to add. There are actually 2 entrances on the south Blood Kelp zone (so 5 total?), one is right as you go down the trench on the wall that is a big hole the cyclops can pass easily and leads right on the " Ancient Skeleton " which is a safe shortcut and the other entrance right at the end of the trench where it goes to the head of the " Gargantuan Fossil " Most people bring some stuff like acid mushrooms from above however aside from the table corals around the map, there is actually a very small hill with multiple geysers that has Acid Mushrooms, it is in the entrance from the Bulb zone and mountains and right before the lava zone / ghost leviathan patrol area. Check it out if you haven't. I don't know if you are saving it for an easter egg special , (easter is soon upon us) but you did not mention the secret teleporter room behind the waterfall in the " Ghost Forest ". I would really love a Subnautica Easter Egg lore video , maybe you could place secret areas , vents or stuff like the precursor room in the sparse reef or other references. :D

Lost River is definitely my favorite biome in the game. However, on my first playthrough, I used the ghost forest entrance in the northern blood kelp zone and my god was annoying to navigate with the cyclops. luckily after getting stuck on many trees and taking several blows from the ghost leviathan I made it down the massive brine waterfall. after that I was in the clear but to anyone currently playing, use a different entrance for your cyclops.

I found the trench in the northern blood kelp zone was a tight but good fit to drop the Cyclops down to the entrance. Just park it there with a little platform for your prawn to climb back in on at the ledge. The ghost tree area actually has no predators in it so it makes a great place for a base. Bordering the lost river and the inactive lava zone, it was the perfect place for the Deepwater Exploration Resupply Point, or DERP for short. The DERP had an observation room looking at the tree with a bed in it. Classy. Got me through the end game in style.

Additionally my guest for the rings what most likely have to do with the flow of lava occurring at the time. Another possibility is these rings developed as the landscape shifted over time allowing for rapid falling and cooling magma. Just my guess

@@TheLastBacon Nice one for the quick reply :D Oh indeed it can be terrifying. 1st playthrough the Leviathans (Barring the one big Ghosty who decided to turn up at my base in safe shallows) they would leave me alone if I left them alone. This playthough (2nd) they are ferocious. Ghosts hound me relentlessly and the Reapers.... They dive at me at every opportunity. They have appeared in kelp forests to snack on my seamoth even after I have escaped. From petting a Reaper on my first playthrough (Screenshotted) to being chased to the void by them on my 2nd. Stuck between Ghost Leviathans and Reapers. They seem to be far more aggressive on my 2nd playthrough with no chance of sneaking past now. Truely fear inducing. And the howls. They send shivers down your spine. The only thing worse is the roar when they something to eat. Typically me or my seamoth.
