I only encountered bleeders in the reactor of the aurora (I somehow managed to get badly hurt before getting it off) and that larvas..... nearly ruined my first small trip to the inactive lava zone.... I didn,t notice they steal energy and took them with me for fun.... until my extra energy cell was at 49% in seconds -_- but then I had heat loader.... and the only one that joined was right on the view so it needed to say bye, too XD

That's a fairly reasonable reaction :)

I used to think that the lava larvae grew into the lava lizard and that grew into a sea dragon. Idk why. Also, I used to think lava larvae were adorable and I thought it was so cute it liked my prawn until I found out they were sucking the power.

For lava larva I usually just bring my cyclops shield generator and then when one sticks on I just turn on the shield and then turn it back off. It kinda acts as perimeter defense but for the cyclops. It just kinda zaps the larva off and then they are no more, but it does take a lot of power so be sure to bring a thermal module lol.

Here is a tip: If you are in the lava zone going out ur cyclops, take all the power cells out so they don’t have any power to drain

When I got one on the player’s arm I freaked out so much, I can’t stand them at all, if I see one I get the repolsion cannon and shoot it away, aurora mostly, but I can’t do the radiation thing because there’s so many of them!

Strangely enough, I've never seen a bleeder in the Kelp Forest, but I've seen many in the Blood Kelp Trench, and by extension, even the entrance to the Lost River.

Something I thought about is the lava larva sucks electricity from vehicles and what fauna uses electricity, the ampeel. It doesn't make much sense that it's in the lava area tho but just a thought. The ampeel also has similar rings on its skin/shell.

Here a tip if you use the cyclops in the lava zone you don't have to go out as your hand when holding the surival knife is able to pass through walls in the cyclops so just stick your hand where the lava larve and just hit them without any risks!

Honestly not too bad. I ALWAYS carry my knife in my hot bar, and a couple of slices from that gets them off. A bit annoying and creepy looking, but nothing that deadly unless you just got monched by a Reaper. Lava Larva on the other hand........still not that bad, but definitely more annoying. If you have a Cyclops shield generator, they leave you alone and they leave you alone. And if you don’t have it, the Thermal Energy upgrades make these guys nearly useless (unless you get swarmed by them I guess)

Man i was terrified by the 2 bleeders in the seamoth bay when i was trying to get the free seamoth depth module. When i went to the drive core room and fixed all the leaks, i had no idea there were any bleeders in the room lol. Only after i getting out of the water and saw something moving. If i knew there were bleeders in that room i would probably never fixed the radiation

I’m incredibly grateful to Unknown Worlds that they made the lava larva attracted to vehicles. It’s such a cute feature, and its the lava larva’s own way of following you. When I was in the Grand Reef in my Prawn Suit, I was attacked by a crabsquid. I braced for its EMP blast, but when it hit, I wasn’t affected! It was my lava larva! Its presence on my Prawn Suit protected it from the crabsquid! I love the lava larva even more now.

I have an idea for your next few vids describe differs biomes and more deatail than any other youtuber

OK so I know this is a stretch but I think the lava larva is a distent relative of the sandshark as they have similar colours and plates on their backs. Maybe a group of sandsharks got stuck in the jelly shoom cave and where unable to eat the fish in the caves. so they evolved to absorb thermal energy from the geysers and over time got smaller to be less obvious to predators. At some point the thermal vent they live on starts to cool so they follow it down deeper and deeper until they find the lava zone where they are today

Fun fact: the Lava Larva not being a mature creature is similar to the Axolotl on Earth, which requre a chemical not found in their habbitat in order to reach full maturity.

I feel like if it wasn't for the fact that other rays don't have larvae stages, the lava larvae could have been the lava stage of the Crimson Ray, given the overall somewhat similliar body structure (the mouth being on bottom of body for both)

I started a new game multiple bleeders killing everything before I could scan it I was in creative mode so I was ok but I've seen that many before

Interesting, I have never found a bleeder in any of the kelp forests. Then again, I try to spend as little time in the caves under the kelp forest as possible after I got lost in a large one that contained a mesmer and about 4 crash fish in close proximity. Surprisingly, the fish didn't technically kill me. Instead, I got so disoriented trying to get away that I drowned.

You can also easily yeet lava larvaes off your Cyclops when you're inside simply by shooting with a repulsion cannon at them

TF I got like 50 hour in this game and I've never seen a bleeder anywhere except the Aurora! 😅

It's so weird why do lava larve suck electricity when there's nothing that produces it in the lava zone except maybe the precursor bases but idk but it makes more sense to me that they should be near the electric eel like creature but there not and how does even survive only on electricity it's not seen eating anything else ?? 6:25 wait thermal energy well that could explain a little

Yeah well, kharaa spreads through water and air anyway so I don't think it puts them into a large disadvantage :)

Humm. I always cross the Kelp Forest to another biome(Grassy Plateau)& never encounter the Bleeders in my whole gameplay. Guess I never noticed them.

I noticed something weird in my playthrough: Whenever i go to the Aurora i always get attacked when I'm in the prawn bay. Maybe they don't want me to get the prawn suit

Yep, true :)

They larva can’t attach to the seamoth. They have no reason to. The seamoth can’t go that deep. Which means that it would never need to happen in normal gameplay.

Imo lava larva are anoying but i find them kinda cute Honestly and if they had a normal mouth instead of a suction cup in the Front of its head , i would own one as a pet

They don’t have any eggs, but you can bring one to the Safe Shallows if you attach it to your vehicle.

it seems im lucky because only one lava larva got attached to my prawn in my whole playthrough
