I love the fact that he thought about building the base in a way, that the shadow leviathan really seems to patrol around it, since it is built right in between a loop where the shadow leviathan circles really close. Great work, would love to see more from you again 🗣💯

Interesting, in the original game the leviathans would just randomly charge in the player’s direction even inside the base despite not actually being able to do anything. But in this one they seem to completely ignore you when you’re inside and go on a scripted path.

I have my observatory with hatch so they are in water and he trys to attack me non stop in them

I love the glass ceilings in Sub Zero! I so wish they had them in the original.

Got to admire the more adventurous places you build bases. The best I could do was build one in the central entrance area of the Cotton Anenome Caves. Great natural lighting, lots of resources, no predators (Lily Paddlers make me trip balls though), and a beautiful ambiance.

@@equinoxonroblox Only one in the lowest level. I literally built the base directly under the island with the omega lab, so no squid sharks for me. Did have to worry about one spike trap though.

I made my dream base there! Lily Paddlers are my favorite creature, my little guy in the alien containment is my pride and joy.

This is got to be one of the coolest bases and biomes I’ve seen so far! Nice job! That Shadow Leviathan adds a nice touch too!

I plan on having my base somewhere cool, but it was a tough decision between a few differnt biomes. Crystal Caves beat it, but I'm not sure where in the Crystal Caves it will be (I have only seen the entrance and first Shadow Leviathan). Now, I think I'm going to have multiple bases, one for every biome.

@@michalhashtag1627 i made at least two scanner rooms in the green crevices in the middle of the crystal caves passages where there are thermal vents, it served as a shelter while i gathered courage to go past the shadow leviathans, after i realize that theyre incredibly weak to the seatruck electro-shocks i was no longer afraid lmao

I'm not a big fan of those. Basic multipurpose rooms make you plan your base better and be more creative. Also (and I'm still exploring this) the ways in which you can build walls and doors inside the Large Rooms is very limited.

This base is very well made. It probably wasnt easy.

shadow leviathan is the remnant of the horror subnautica encapsulated so well. in a game with chelicerates sharing a braincell and missed opportunities named squidsharks, the shadow leviathan kinda stands out with its great design, terrifying agro animation and the ambience it sets up. maybe if the devs went more with what the shadow leviathan was for the games direction, it wouldnt feel as meh

The pathing and behavior of the shadow beats anything in the first game. The patrol it does is so smooth compared to the random directions that the reapers and sea dragons would often go.

Craft a room, build a hatch, when Leviathan starts chasing you run inside, repeat. You can also extend most of the rooms from inside.

@@OarfishChannel I tried doing that, i accidentaly built the floor too high and i had to deconstruct everything...

you always pull through when I just want to see a leviathan without suffering through it (because then I can't appreciate color/design...I'm too busy running @_@) and I won't be buying Below Zero at all since it doesn't seem to be very much like the first game (which is what I liked). So thank you!!!!! Also...you just make the most stylish bases ever. Maybe you could do a video on some tips for making things a little easier for building your base? I seem to have a hard time with mine for sure. Don't know why things won't go where it seems to be fine, etc.

How do you build in this area without getting constantly attacked?

Sooner or later it gets very buggy. Subnautica isn't designed for massive bases.
