Personally I love and adore the songs that Sublime did with Brad, but I can't hate on Rome. The man has talent. He's making Brad proud 👏

simply put.. stop being angry that Rome isn't Brad. he's been dead over 20 years at this point and realize that the other members of sublime are amazing musicians and are just as big a part of the reason why sublime is so amazing. would u rather them still be to grief stricken to not provide great music to the world.. in all reality that is how musicians cope with their emotions beautiful music is the product of tragedy. I personally think Brad would approve of Rome and would just enjoy the music and not worry about anything else.

Rome with sublime, no disrespect but without his amazing talent this band would have died with Bradley. Haters, give Rome love, he is a big deal and keeping sublime alive.

For everyone freaking out over this group because of the name, it actually has some very clear stylistic overlap with the original Sublime, basically sounding exactly as I'd expect Sublime to sound 20 years later in the 2010's decade (it does have Eric Wilson after all). You guys _do_ realize Sublime's music still exists in recorded form, right? Everyone who still hasn't gotten over Brad Nowell's death should just go listen to original Sublime instead of polluting this comment section with pointless demands that this band either change their name or sound like music from two decades ago.

Have you really listened to Sublime? I mean besides Santeria. This is not it. It isn't bad, but it's not even close. Sublime was much, much more raw reggae punk ska with an edge. This is watered down pop reggae compared to Sublime.

Garrison Dean Of course I've listened to plenty of Sublime (I actually can't stand Santeria anymore because I've encountered it way too much in my lifetime, btw). I didn't say it was the same music, but that I can still pick up on the inspiration and stylistic overlap. Hell, Darius Rucker did both alternative rock and a country album but that didn't mean his music was unrecognizably different between the two or that there wasn't clear consistency of style. Same difference here, except you've subjectively decided that one has "an edge" and the other is "watered down". I guarantee that if it had instead been Sublime in Rome who had done "By the Rivers of Babylon" performed the exact same way, the same people who would've praised Sublime for being so versatile would be like, "What the hell is this watered down s***!? A _BONEY M_ COVER SONG!? They SUCK! Sublime would never have pulled this crap! What were they thinking!?"

What you guys are missing are the songs like STP, Saw Red, Smoke Two Joints, Burritos, etc. It's a punk/reggae/ sound that helped make Sublime. That sound is absent with Sublime with Rome. The edge is gone.

This song kind of has under the sea vibes! Love it. Am I the only one who can hear the similarities?

I just think that they should've changed the name. Its nothing like the original, so why try an compete and say like, you own sublime now and all that. It's just not, what everyone knows as sublime. So everyone is going to have their own opinions about it. But I do agree as for Rome being good. He's just not sublime.

It's not because Rome is good or bad as a singer, it's because Bradley was Sublime and that name belongs to his band. He made Sublime what it was. Just because part of the band is still together doesn't make it the same thing. Maybe part of the frustration is because both sides are trying to honor Bradley in a different way. I know Rome is trying to honor him but it's not the old Sublime so it's almost like they are infringing upon the bands name. Rome is a decent musician in his own right but he is no Bradley Nowell. He will never be Sublime.

I was and still am so happy they found Rome they made amazing music plus the bonus of how close he sounds to Brad it's a blessing❤

I agree rome is good BUT it is not "sublime"...and not just because it's a new singer, it's because brad wrote ALL the lyrics for the songs. therefore since it's not the same singer or song writer it will never be the same

Respect to Rome. To take that on your shoulders and run with it like he does. Respect- These songs are great.

This song makes me remember why I have loved the man that I do, even though I forget sometimes. Thank you, Rome for the music. A bridge to the good side.

They replaced that ska, punk type style with something a bit more pop. And they're still good, it's just hard not to try to associate sublime with Rome with the original sublime considering Eric and Bud are a part of it. I think that's why people dislike them so much. Sublime with Rome still kind of holds on to the branding of sublime but with an almost completely different sound. Throws me off now still

Rome is awesome. Sublime was fucking awesome. Sublime with Rome still fucking awesome.

Rome makes sure he pays homage to Brad all the time. I think people should look at him and be happy he’s has decided to take on role that allows Sublime to live on and continue to share their gifts. And remember that even though Brad is gone he is not forgotten

I love that they distinguish, Sublime, and Sublime with Rome... But Rome is the perfect fit for this band. They are "different" bands, but they still rock. Rome carries the Sublime legacy, and does it well.

July 8th went to see em but ended up in the back of a cop car. The cop was tight and said "Hey Johnny 5 Sublime is playing do you want me to look busy so you can hear the set!?!?!. Yeah memories.😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅

Sublime with Rome is awesome. I've seen them live twice and each time was amazing. Take it or Leave it and this song are my JAMS and easily compare to much of the original band's work. Plus side is this **** ain't played out yet. Is there anyone who truly loves hearing Santeria anymore? Great song but loses impact after that 10,000 time hearing it.

For anyone complaining about the name, they is it was a sort of "tribute" to Bradley. Also the original members of the band stated that they know Brad would want them to continue to make music (and I'm pretty sure they know him better than any of us do). That's why the name has "Sublime" in the name, so the spirit of the band will carry on. In all honesty Rome is a pretty great singer. Not necessarily the same vibe as Brad, but you can't ignore talent. If you're a real sublime fan you'll respect that the music is about good vibes, which hatred towards a new member isn't really reflecting

Bradley was a very good singer, nobody will be like him. He is dead and never ever will be back unless science finds something to bring people back from dead. Rome Ramirez is a very good guitarrist and vocalist, no doubt, he is printing his own style which is very similar Bradley's but is not the same. And HERE is the point, the original Sublime were three musicians, not just one. Bud Gaugh and Eric Wilson contributions and creativity were part of Sublime and STILL are part of SUBLIME WITH ROME. So, SUBLIME IS STILL ALIVE AND MAKING MUSIC!

I love SWR, they have turned out some great music very much aligned with what Bradley would be doing at this point. Those who don't appreciate a reincarnated Sublime are just fools.

I see a lot of comments hating on the name, sublime wasn't just brad nowell.. it was tragic and sad but you have to understand how it must have been on the two guys who were basically his brothers they were so close.. they wanted to continue their music but bring their best friend along with them, the best way they could was keep a name he was a huge part of a part of their music, they don't sound completely the same, but the vibe is there and whether the style died to update or not, they kept brad with them. The music is good, and the guys have good hearts, knock the hate off if you won't step into their shoes.

I've read that Nowell chose him to fill in prior to his death, and i found that to be sufficient though i like the music, to carry on the name takes something special and Rome got it.
