He struggled with heroin among other drugs and eventually overdosed. Sublime is from SoCal and was just getting big when he passed. If I remember correctly, the song was about his girl being stolen. The whole album is worth listening to. They are a Ska punk band and have some similar sounds to RHCP. I loved when you all started singing the chorus together. Good reaction :-)

Yes. It blows my mind that Bradley never saw the full reach of his music. 40 oz was released after his death and it blew up the band. He never got to see it. Edit: Not 40 OZ, it was Sublime.

Heina is spanish slang used by Mexican/American for a "chick" and sancho is used for a woman's other man/affair. Sublime is originally from Long Beach (LBC) and were exposed to the Mexican/American culture and used it in some of their music. You guys need to check out "Doin Time"... I guarantee you guys will feel the groove...

Someone asked me why I like to watch reaction videos. It is like going back in time and re living the first time I heard the song, or whatever. Watching you young men play around and enjoy these great tunes from my past reminds me of how my friends and I were back in the day. Good love between you guys. God bless you. Hope you get the same joy from these old man tunes I did back in the day.
There was a period in the 90s where I had one of two Sublime CDs in my discman in the car just about constantly, on a rotation with NOFX's "Punk in Drublic" and Bad Religion's "Recipe for Hate". In fact, I still listen to all of those albums. And I happen to be wearing a Scooby-Doo shirt right now 😂❤

One of greatest bands ever! 40oz to Freedom and the self titled record are essential🙌
*sublime april 29 1992* is about the Rodney king riots in LA
Santería is kinda like the Hispanic version of voodoo. Even though it’s origin’s also come from Africa. The “worship of dead people” you’re thinking of is the “Day of the Dead”. This is a time (roughly around Halloween) when one celebrates the life and memories of their ancestors.
Since y'all been delving into the 1990s rock scene, please hit Alice in Chains THE ROOSTER! That song tells such an amazing story about the guitar players dad in Vietnam. Unfortunately, we lost that lead singer just like we lost sublime lead singer, heroin overdose
This video is absolutely amazing. I bought 40oz to freedom in 1996 at a pawn shop and it blew my mind. That was just after Bradly had passed but I had no clue at the time. That album spent more time in my CD player than any other album for more than a decade, and watching people discover how incredible this band was is just a blessing. Please do yourself a favor fellas and listen to everything from them. Much love!
Loved the reaction. It was cool you looked things, a lot of reviewers have questions and then never look them up! Loved the John Cena in the beginning.
You guys are fun! I like all of your different personalities, and that you're all friends.
Lucky enough to see them back in 94ish playing in front of an old surf shop in melbourne beach Fl. Call the groove tube...good times.
Always more Sublime. Badfish is one of my favs. Also April 29, 1992. Also Chica Mi Tipo
Hey bros really enjoyed your reaction to one of my favorite band's songs. It was like I got to listen to it again for the first time watching you guys groove to it... thanks for doing this! Sublime was a very influential band and Bradley is an icon to many. If you're interested in learning more about him, check out the tribute album called The House That Bradley Built, covers of his songs and songs that he performed recorded by the bands that have been inspired by him. A very touching tribute. It is really, really good. He inspired so many, and his tragic tale is still very painful... he went out at his peak and had so much more to contribute. RIP
Keep killin' it guys. 👊🏻 I love that you are open to so many artists and materials. Big fan. RIP Bradley. He did pass away from a heroin OD, he wrote a song about his addiction called Pool Shark (Acoustic), great song...Hiena is spanish slang for Ruca which means one true love. Sancho is a slang term for male side piece. The song is about telling Sancho don't be messin' with my one true love or else. Sublime were white dudes from Long Beach and other areas of SoCal. Their music style is a cross between alternative rock, reggae, and sca punk. Bradley spoke fluent spanish. They crushed it in the 90's along with Beastie Boys, No Doubt, Rage Against The Machine. Sublime was one of my all time favs, many memories listening to their music. Looking forward to the next reaction guys, big props guys. Stay up! 🙌🏼
This album was the ish when I was in high school (telling my age), and it’s still one to sit chill out to. The whole album is worth a listen. Grab a drink, something to smoke on and some good company.

I'm 67 and love this song! My son used to sing to this at karaoke when everyone went together, like 20 years ago. They're a great band and this whole album is awesome. I gotta say, I also love Bob Marley and Red Hot Chilli Peppers, which this band blends those two sounds together nicely. Though they were contemporaries of RHCP, they were able to create their own unique sound. Great video guys! I have an eclectic taste in music, so I thought maybe you guys would like some stuff from ELO (Electric Light Orchestra). Jeff Wynn, British, is good friends with Paul McCartney and the late John Lennon, as well as George Harrison at some point, so I think you're going to be able to hear their influence in his music. Especially the music of the Beatles towards the end of them being together. The Beatles's album, "Sargent Peppers Heart Club Band", is an evolved sound from their earlier sound and Jeff Wynn captures that sound in ELO's " Mr. Blue Sky". It is one of my favorites, because it always puts me in a good, happy mood! Maybe you'll like it too!
Y’all put out my favorite react videos, like how ya appreciate all music. Fan from Arkansas
Just listen to the entire Sublime catalog. I’d say start with the 40 oz To Freedom album! Great video guys✌️
Please keep listening to Sublime! Everything Bradly did was special! Its some of the best base, drums and guitar. RIP Bradly
Sublime has a remix with Snoop Dogg called "Doin Time" . It's rare but it's worth it.

The day I found out Bradley Nowell OD'd & died was one of the worst of my life

"April 29th 1992" is a great song. They have a lot of fun and controversial music. I would also check out "Caress me Down" if you want more Spanish. And "Date Rape" if you want more controversial. Both great songs. All of their music tells a story, if you are willing to listen.

Sublime was HUGE in the late 90’s to early 2000’s and they got some hits. Checkout - Smoke Two Joints, Pawn Shop, Garden Grove and Rivers of Babylon.

Definitely hope for more Sublime! Badfish, Caress me Down, Garden Grove, Smoke Two Joints, Doin Time.... there's tons of hits to pick from and all are legit.

Sublime is a Whole Vibe Bro....is perfect beach and summer music....Sublime self titled album Sublime was last project before Bradley passed RIP.....they were gonna be huge....u can tell some of his/the groups influences, but since they from LBC they have lots of Snoop references.....he masterfully blended rock/folk/reggae/and hip-hop to create something totally original and it's timeless music.....Def react to more, or at least listen to more, they're upper echelon 4sho!!

Aww a classic! I love you guys reacting to so many genres of music, and comedy and even sports. 👏🏼☺️ Just a quick thing: Day of the Dead, or Dia de los Muertos is celebrated across Latin America, and is All Saints Day, when you remember your loved ones who’ve passed. We don’t worship the dead, we keep their memory alive, but I understand the confusion. Honestly… a cute kids movie was Encanto. It was a beautiful animated take on the significance. Groups and people like Sublime, Red Hot Chili Peppers, K-dot and Tupac seem to have such a distinct Cali sound. Then you consider the production side with people like rick rubin, and yeah...there is some kind of cali sound that just sounds great when you hear it. As a sidenote: Check out Glitchmob. They have such a cali sound too imo, yet in the dj nerd form. Unless my memory is failing me, they are LA mode also. Awesome music. Good times. Talented musicians. Gg

I recommend checking alll their stuff.
