I'am using the stock vw tranny for now. The late model transmission has the strongest ring and pinion. I am running that for now...until it blows! Lots of options out there, just haven't decided which to go with.

yes im running the oem box. Its holding up fine for now, but im not doing any hard launching. Once i save enough cash i will upgrade to a subaru tranny.

you can modify the ring and the pinion of the same vw trany to get more. large the 2 a and 4th gear i made that and it workes great and i spend like 600 dlls totally.. it runs over the 100mph obviously with the vw engine modified

I got the mounts from cip1.ca It is a vw transmission for now. Until i get the cash to put in a sti v6 5 speed tranny.

suspension wont fit. unless you are into some serious welding and reconstruction!! for brakes i would upgrade to 944's all around. And suspension to qa1 coilovers. Thats what im doing slowly as cash allows me.

He nice project Are you going to run a oem vw gearbox on the subaru turbo engine ? It has a least 200 hp is it so the if oem vw box you are going to break it very fast Just some positive respons. Greets johan

Yes I made the exhaust system. I bought down pipe from eBay and modified it.

that is a lot on a oem transmission your doing good why not take a porsche 915 or 911 gearbox i have a 911 G50 in my bug

SOLID TRANSMISSION MOUNT STRAP KIT FRONT & REAR BEETLE 61-72 this is what i found there am i at the right one?

As far as 200 hp goes.......not even close....301hp at the wheels!! lol

and here I was worried about pulling the body from the chassis for a paint job lol newb
