We have been blown away with my wife's OBW. It has its minor annoyances, but overall we love it. Don't regret a single second. Amazing engine.

Great review and solidifies my decision in purchasing one this week. FYI the '23's do have a better textured rear tray and wireless Android Auto and Apple Car Play is standard.

Knowing mine and the vehicle’s limitations off road I’m going to be very happy with one. I’m not jeeping over massive ruts, deep mud or vehicle killing rocks. Just your average dad doing average stuff.

Bought mine August 2021, and it really is a perfectly balanced car for commuting, road trips and the occasional off road. The CVT though does get jerky, but overall a great car.

I got my OBW May 7th. Got just shy of 3k on the clock. This is my second Outback. I've been on the fence on it being worth trading my 20 Onyx for about 6 months. So glad I pulled the trigger. The Wilderness handled the North Carolina mountains so much better than the Onyx did. I totally agree the rear cargo tray is subpar for sure, its also the same in the Onyx.

I'm going to get one next year. I'm glad you made this video. It's going to be a huge upgrade for me coming from a Corolla. I've used my Corolla to go on long road trips, camping, light off-roading to campsites and hiking trails. I'm excited for the turbo.

Yeah, it's one of those "no one stops at this one in the neighborhood" signs. I probably should but it's a right turn 3-way that everyone runs when no one else is there. I'll deduct 20 cool guy points from my own cache and say 3 hail-subarus tonight lol. I would love to drive a 3.6R to see how it compares to the 2.4 turbo.

Wireless Carplay/AA is in the '23.

About to order a '23 a d thankfully they now support wireless android auto and it uses much more of the screen. Way better. Also fixed the awful climate control UI. Glad to see Subaru listens to customers.

@@lowery02 was told October. There are some differences , the eyes have been upgraded, and other small details. Reason I went with '23, there wasn't an Autumn Green one available - anywhere - and a white one could have been here in September, but I just felt like getting what I wanted, and what's one more month

Honestly, it works really well. I dislike CVT's, but you should test drive it. If there was one criticism, I wish you could disable (or make it selectable) the fake gear changes.

Honestly the latest cvts from Subaru are fine. You don’t even think about it which is probably the best compliment you can give a cvt.

Love my 22 black OBW I got in February. Was a big step up from my lease on a 2018 ford ecosport. Compared to what I've driven, its a hell of a lot of fun to drive. I'm with you on the complaints about the center console. Shame they give us this nice big screen but the underlying tech is so bad. Thats the way it is for every car I've ever been in though haha. Found out recently that the whole big "chip shortage" the auto industry has been having is because they use a chip format that is so outdated that chip manufacturers are now several generations ahead and no longer make them for anything but automobiles, so they've lost their economy of scale. Real head scratcher that one was. Auto industry really needs to catch up on compute power, if you're gonna give me a fuckin' Ipad as a center console, it needs to be able to do more than a budget 2006 computer.

I really wanted a Forester Wilderness but my wife and I are so tired of having 33 years of automobile manufacturers shoving Depressing Grey or Death Black interior colors down everyone’s throats that we decided to never buy another vehicle with those 1990 interior colors. Her Outback has the Ivory interior and my Forester Touring has the Saddle Brown interior. In the spring of 24, Subaru is coming out with a completely redesigned Forester with an available Rav / Venza hybrid system. The 25 Forester hybrid will have over 200hp and get much better fuel economy. Hopefully Subaru will offer tan, brown, red, or perhaps blue interior colors in lower trim models. We even had our 11 Ranger XLT super cab 4X4 with custom 2 tone paint, (Silver over Red metallic) reupholstered in Red with Black stitching and trim to match the 2 tone paint. It originally had gloomy grey and boring black interior colors 🤮.

Does everyone else's OBW suck on gas ? I drive mix of highway and backroads to work and been getting about 17mpg average. Not driving crazy or fast either.

That's crazy. My lifted 2 door jeep jk on 33s was getting just under 20 mpg avg summer and 18.7 on winter blended gas and long warm up. My 23 outback premium is awesome I'm getting an average of 31.7 mpg and about a 560 mile range per tank.

I got one back in February. I love the car except for the Infotainment and the CVT transmission. Traversing the gears feels squishy and inconsistent, unlike a typical 6-speed automatic.

I drive it everyday. I average in the 18 mpgs. I also live really close to work so I don't do a ton of highway miles to increase the average.
