Subaru Outback Comparison - Wilderness vs. Premium models
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Wow! I can't believe the differences between these two Subaru Outback models. I've owned the 2022 Outback Wilderness for 2 years now and have recently had a 2024 Outback Premium as a loaner from the dealer for 5 days. Since these two Outback's are so incredibly different I wanted to share my experience with you in hopes that you may find this informative in your vehicle model comparison efforts.
The key differences I really noticed:
#1 - Engine. The 2.4L turbo in the Wilderness delivers a HUGE performance difference vs the 2.5L standard engine. I'll take the turbo all day in regards to its superior (in my opinion) performance even with the hit to fuel efficiency.
#2 - Suspension. I forgot to mention this in the video but the Wilderness feels tighter and drives more like a performance vehicle. The Premium just feels mushy and subdued. It also rides a little lower which I do notice.
#3 - The little things. Power tailgate, front view camera, key, upholstery, blind spot indicator, fit & finish, etc. These all add up and I've come to really enjoy the upgrades that come with the Wilderness and lend to the overall user experience.
Thanks for watching and please like/subscribe if you want more of this sort of content!

I just got a 2024 Premium with the moonroof, power liftgate and keyless entry package for about $34k. No front camera or digital backup mirror. I didn't test drive any XT/wilderness models. I have read about oil seal issues... not sure if they are 2.4 specific. I am considering getting the 10/100 warranty... and every one of these reports is helpful in making the decision... thanks!

Got the same thing except for the moonroof which wasn’t a big deal for me anyway. I love this car so far. Only downfall is how sluggish it is when accelerating. But overall great car

@@scratcherfever6316 I am used to the engine... on my 3rd version of it (2005,2013,2024). I don't like the auto stop start, but that is a minor issue. The moonroof package included the blind spot alert and cross traffic alert which i wanted for my kids... i didn't really want the moonroof either.
This is more of a personal love letter to your OBW than anything. I chose the non turbo for reliability, gas mileage. Yes a little sluggish, but the equation boils down to power costs money. Plenty of things I like about the OBW, but make it a bad daily driver, including the lift. I agree the powered lift gate is something I've never had, but comes in handy when you have your hands full, or pups jumping into their crates.
