Watched the whole video. It seemed to go on for ages! Very different watching a Anyway, you're doing very well to be doing sub-20 minute 5.04kms at age 62. Inspirational. Well done, and long may you be able to enjoy running.

Thats is great to hear and welcome to my corner of KZread. Absolutley endurance for a 5k hence no editing my video to give that feeling. Showing stats is just a distraction LOL.....Having recently turned 63, i'm sure you will soon be under 20 and getting quicker. If you need any help, give me a shout.

@@PoetWithPace I ran 21.13 last July, but without any speedwork, just training for an Ultra 50K. I'm currently in Thailand and trying to get some speed in my legs again, and following a Garmin 10K training plan. The heat (it's typically 35C and 40C+ in the sun) is draining, but I could probably do 23mins for 5K; then hopefully break 21mins when I'm back in the UK for the summer, and with some luck, maybe 20mins. My main target is another 50K Ultra at under 5hrs 30mins.

@@PoetWithPace Thanks. That's why I was surprised to run a 21.13 5k last summer. I had only been doing long-distance Z1/Z2 training, but I found that enabled me to maintain a good pace consistently; I could probably have carried on past 5k. Hoping the 10K training I'm doing now will improve my speed. Then, when I do the Ultra training I will still do a fast session once a week.

Great effort and fantastic pacing. You are such an inspiration for us older runners. I'm target a 10k in a couple of weeks for a pb in vets 55 category. Last chance saloon as I'm 60 next year. I don't want to say the time out loud 😂 ⁴⁸:⁵⁹ But aiming to drop it even more next year. You're that consistency pays dividend.
