In this sort of fight even if the Su-30 lost the fight simply the fact that the other side lost an AWACS, (which is the most valuable aerial target you can destroy) it is a much bigger blow to the "winners" side.

That's because GS set it up that way. Did no one else notice OPFOR did absolutely nothing until the E3 was hit? Do you think a real life unit would see a hostile contact intercepting their AWACS and not move to intercept until after the AWACS catches a missile?

Strange, the awacs would have seen the SU30 far before he would have shot a missle, the awacs have ditected those Rafales straight to the threat

They were going towards him. it was 250km range kill ... Rafales can literally do nothing. Only way to survive there is not have the AWACS fly within 300km of the 30. it's not like they were flying in the same direction as the Su-30 and got hit in the back.

I do not understand how the awacs did not saw you,was it turned off? Su30 is a big plane with very big RCS, should be seen on radar at 350km or more.

If it would be something you would consider, I really enjoy seeing the tac-view breakdown of these BVR fights when they're present. There can be a lot of "I think the missile is defeated" and headgames in anticipation of what your bandit will be doing, and I find it really interesting to see how and where missile launches happen, how (and if) they were defeated, and it gives more of a view of the back and forth nature of BVR.

It's interesting that the Rafale - which I believe is the second most in-demand fighter plane after the F-35 - can't win with a 2-1 advantage with Meteor Missiles. And can the AWACS not see the incoming missile? Wouldn't it dive as quickly as safely as could be done into thicker air to try to evade? I think our hero is the difference in many of these scenarios. Keep the great content coming!

I can't understand why the Rafale pilots stayed that high up instead of defending like GS did. A pair of Raptors might have been able to pull that off, but Rafales? Sheesh. They could have dodged his *sometimes even blindly fired* missiles by going cold, hitting a notch and / or dropping down low. You know ... defending? But instead, they stayed way up high, super easy to track for any incoming missiles. No wonder they got shot down.

Completely not even close to the real thing, and I know that this is just a simulation with many unknown specs about the aircraft, but the AWAC would see the non-stealthy flanker long before the flanker saw it, little lone be that close to the flanker, or the Rafales not seeing the flanker at that range with their radar and sensors or pick up the incoming missiles , plus you don't see defending squadrons of aircraft diving for the ground to lose missile locks, then to only climb back up to engage them.

I love the Flanker. So sexy and a beast in the hands of a competent pilot.

What happened to the Meteor? You were 9k+ altitude when it launched on you. Isn't that normally a brown pants situation?

you can when its a valley cuz the terrain around you covers you. this is how I beat all the other ones, I cranked towards the mountains and away from the flat terrain for this reason.

As much as it pains me to see an aircraft as beautiful as the Rafale go down, that was some pretty swanky flying on your part. Avoiding a Meteor missile at all is impressive, but facing two Meteor slingers and coming out on top is quite the show!

What happend with the Rafale last Meteor? Obviously defeated, but the shoot was before that last double tap and you were very high for very long very inside the range. It's confused me a little.

I guess that GS dove straight down to the deck and hid behind a hill/went into a valley. The Meteor has an enormous range but isnt that quick, especially if GS forces the missile to go down low in the thicker air.

That Su-30 was a missile truck. I counted twelve air-to-air missiles.

This is my favorite channel. Never thought I’d literally be watching someone else play a game instead of making my own desktop and just playing DCS myself 😂

I don't think Sukhoi pilots speak "fox3" when firing radar guided missiles.

You definitely to try and find a Sol 1 skin for this plane when you do another mission with it. Maybe have you be a different Flanker variant and come across this Sol 1 Su-30SM in a 1v4, casually taking all 4 out before you link up and fly alongside as he heads RTB, leaving you to do your mission now that he did his.

You had me at the end. You made me think the rafale shot before you while you waited around for 30 seconds😂

At the point of 1v1 @13:oo minutes... the pucker factor kicked in, volume down and I sat away from the screen... then you launched two r77's at him. Oh man, GS... hahaha the stress level in some of these are off the chart. As my Dad used to say, "if you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space."

I know it was just revealed, but it would be amazing to see what the F22 paired with the new mako hypersonic missile can do. Just seems unfair at this point.

does an AWAC really have no countermeasures? RadarJamming Flars Chaf- all the stuff? Do they really didn't notice that they have been locked? Hard to imagine - so an AWAC should be always the first target, or not?

Bigger airframe, bigger loadout - has to be an advantage in some scenarios. That's what makes the F-15EX an interesting platform in the mix with F-35s. Does it also make the F-15EX a good AWACS wingman, carrying a warehouse load of AIM-9Xs for anti AAM defence?

The Russians are upgrading all Su-30s to Su-35s in terms of electronics and weapons control. If they do that, its only rival will be the F-22. However, in terms of air/ground/sea versatility it will be the best in the world. And much cheaper than any modern airplane. And then the Russians will be able to make a lot of them.

I am really liking the Su-30.

Could we get a F22 1v1 but they are guns only while taxiing through the streets of Las Vegas on the Nevada map.

I make my gf watch these videos with me all the time, she hates it 😂. But anyway, I was in this town Saint Emillion in France last summer drinking some wine when a Rafale just streaks across the sky at low altitude. I was fanboying so hard while the gf was rolling her eyes at my enthusiasm. Made my day

The AWACS doesnt know that a missile was fired, all it saw was the SU-30's radar painting him and when the missile went active/pitbull, it is/was too late to do anything about it.

Those rafales are a bit flying like seatting ducks aren't they ?

its crazy to see how even stuff like wing flex and vibrations are modelled.

You caught both of the Rafale's up high. If it is known that you need to get low and fast to defeat these missiles why are they so high? Is their skill level so low?

Day 117 of R-37's, and -77M's destroying everything in the sky out to 200 miles.

This video hurts me in the sense that either way it could have gone would have hurt. I love both the Flanker series and the Rafale.

At least they're not sporting Majik missiles... because those are used to attack darkness!😜

Why not also launch the second hypersonic if it was possible to obtain a lock on the Rafale too?

They were too far. And AWACs can't defend. Rafales can easily.

Now do it again and you get in a Rafale. Use your skill against the odds.

I don't know what's worse... Look at this BVR combat charade or that idiots take these fights on DCS as proof of how well the planes perform in reality. 😂

What is the point of these scenarios where you shoot 2 missiles with little to no separation (15:20)? Curious, because I thought their chances of hitting aren't much different, since separation, altitude and guidance is about the same, isn't it? Like if your opponent dodges one of those, he might aswell dodge the second one with the same movement, since those 2 aren't flying wildly different paths or anything? Thanks for any kind of explanation in advance :)

Hi, sometimes I do that when we are super close with a small delay because at close ranges that few miles can make a big difference, also it helps he if tries to notch them because he might notch 1 but 2 would be harder and therefore increase my PK.

What on earth was the 2nd Rafale pilot doing after he had fired his missile? Probably thinking about his mistress or which wine to have with lunch, coz he certainly wasn't reducing altitude like he should have been and now he's dead.

For 4th Gen fighters, the F-16 has my heart, but the Rafale has my soul

So that last Meteor did not get close enough to even bother showing? I thought for sure both aircraft were going to splash.

Can anyone answer the following question ---- Has GS ever published a video featuring an in-flight refueling? My understanding is that DCS offers this function, I just don't think I've ever seen GS utilize this sort of refueling... Thanks.
