They can be big and boldly coloured, metal geometrics with unusual textures... and can be worn in so many ways!

Thank you! Do you know, I used to wear brooches back in the 90s, but haven’t worn them in ages. I also used to wear big statement necklaces in the naughties - perhaps I should revisit them - and scarves too - thank you, I’ll have a play about with them - they can definitely add a finishing touch to a look ❤️

Hi Dez, your hair and make up and that grey sweater at the beginning of the video look stunning on you. i think your fringe is a perfect length and you styled the outfits well. I personally liked the wide leg white trousers over the skinny ones. Well for a very well put together video, and i know it takes a lot of effort and it is much appreciated.

Thanks so much Donna! It’s always tricky to find ways of filming yourself full length. The skinny ones are perhaps less adventurous I guess, and as I write this in Budapest it’s over 30C so glad I brought the wide legs!

What an interesting video. Some stand out items. The navy dress is a real winner as is the navy jacket, although not together, the white M&S jeans look really good on you. I don’t think you should shy away from wider trousers. You look good in them. My rule of thumb with trousers is if they’re not instantly comfortable, I don’t buy them. The red t shirt looks great on you. I have the Uniqlo mesh jumper in pale grey and iIt’s very versatile. Honestly I think the Mary Janes are not a good look. All in all you have some great items and will be able to put together loads of looks. Well done Dez…it was really well worthwhile working with the stylist. She has brought out your natural style🌹

I do think they take some getting used to but they do have a good modern look. I really like the first pair of white jeans you wear. I think those look great! And I think you can wear those with so many things! I also love you and those black pants really good and the blue dress is also very nice! I also love all the short jackets! Unfortunately, I am not a fan of Mary Jane’s. I do prefer your other choices and I really like that stacked heel sandal! Nice!! Thank you for sharing all this with us! 🥰

I’m have similar issues with my tummy and find that when I add a long cardigan or a lightweight blazer that covers my hips it pulls everything together and minimizes my tummy . Love the dress and have a similar one myself in linen . Sometimes I belt it to give me a waist 😊

Now that's something I haven't yet done - the long cardi - Debs the personal stylist did recommend it - I do have a black one and a black blazer but both too warm for this weather. I might try belting the dress - thank you for the tip ❤️

I like it all. I especially like the sporty look at 16:29. Very cute on you! I'd suggest tucking tops into jeans. It looks more flattering as your legs look long and lean until you wear an untucked top. It makes your waist look bigger than it is and the outfit less polished. On me ultra casual is aging. I hope I'm not hurting your feelings. I'm from the US and I know we suffer from foot in mouth disease! ♥

Not at all! I have always shied away from tucking in, which comes from having been bigger as a teenager/young adult. But maybe I should have a go - it's just self-consciousness that holds me back ❤️

I think high waist maybe isnt your thing, isnt really mine, but occasionally i will wear with a more cropped top, they my legs end up looking super long 😅. I have a curvy tum too. I think jesns with a bit of stretch and straight cut or just slightly wider are best, though iike the wide trousers on you. The dress is very stylish - it would look great with a long chain or a statement pendant. 😊

I thought the light color outfits and the red top were very nice for summer, and the white wide leg pants. It's great to see you trying them on, and I think your top/hair/makeup at the start of the video suit you very well! Idk if you'd like a dress in the red color? Might work well with the capsule wardrobe.

Thanks so much Teresa! I have taken the red T shirt on my short weekend trip to Budapest, and wore it last night with the black linen trousers - I have looked for a red dress but they either seem to be to warm a shade or have cut outs 😏. I will keep an eye out, though!

I think you have really found your style, easy and relaxed but no frumpiness whatsoever and a contemporary vibe….personally I think you could also add a colour accent to your neutrals with a bag for an extra ‘pop’ but looking good 😊

The Uniqlo bra top is sooo good - it's basically a tank with bra support - I particularly love the Uniqlo because it doesn't have adjustable straps, so it is very tank like!

I liked the wide leg trousers, but I don't agree, I don't think the jacket went well with the dress at all, maybe if she tried a wide belt with the dress, to give some definition, it was all too baggy together. 😢

My opinion only...no to the skinny tight fitting white trousers, no to the wide leg white pants (love the black wide leg pants), no to the navy dress and definitely not with the off white shoes. Everything else looked flattering and comfortable. Great video.

Don't hate me but I sent them back - they were too tight at the waist! And the 14s were too baggy at the bum! I have bought blue and black versions of the white ones, though - the Mom's - which are a compromise 😉

Hi Dez: I'm not a huge fan of the wide leg trousers or jeans...just my opinion. I'm only five feet tall and rather pear shaped, so that's a bit of a struggle for me. The sandals are nice..not my personal style, but, they look quite comfortable. I always love a white button down shirt to wear over tank tops, since I don't want to expose my upper arms. Love the bag AND the red tee. Well, you have quite an impressive capsule wardrobe for summer! Enjoyed your video, as always! Rosemarie ❤

The baggy white and black pants seem comfortable. However, they appear too short for wide legs, which can give a somewhat sloppy appearance.

I had to watch this twice before I commented. Some really good pieces, but not necessarily styled as you did. I do like the white jeans, the open weave jumper, the red tee. The slim jeans are quite nice too, but definitely need a longer top. I like the style of the dress, but it appears to be much too big for you (although looks better with the cross body bag ). The Cos trousers are a good fit, and I think if you tucked in the tee shirt when you wear them with the jacket, the proportion would be better. Love the length of the jeans, but if they're too tight, then you won't wear them, plus they are expensive. The wide jeans are ok, but they need a narrower top. The utility jacket would look good with the white jeans and maybe a matelot tee. I think your instincts are right re the Mary-Janes - they may be in style, but not very stylish (if you know what I mean!). The linen shirt would look good under the open weave jumper, hair up and a popped collar! Some shoulder pads (like the silicone ones from Amazon) would make a big difference to many items in your wardrobe. It was hard to gauge your height in this, as the camera angle was looking up. How tall are you?

Thanks so much Fiona! I take all your suggestions on board, and really appreciate them! The personal stylist also suggested shoulder pads, so they are on my list to buy. I am 5ft 4ins (at least I hope I still am 😏). I love the idea of the jumper with the linen shirt underneath. The Mary Jane’s are going onto Vinted when I get back from my weekend away - I’ve given them a few go’s but they feel all wrong.

I love your collection of new summer things.The navy dress looked fabulous I think the bag and sandals work well.I am convinced it's accessories that pull it all together.I have been transitioning into wider trousers. I have similar issues tum but also large bust.I think it harder to make it work with tum and wide trousers.I am not a fan of the half tuck it's hard to pull off.I do think trousers have definitely shape shifted so I shall trying.Your video's are the best so real thank you from a 75 year clothes person

The ‘communist’ outfit is great. Looks casual, comfortable and cool.

You look great in it all. Just need a hairstyle to go with it. Something really bouncy with lots of movement would give the right vibe xx😊

Well...some of us do NOT have tons of hair with tons of volume! Most of us are struggling with thinning hair after 65, if not sooner. I think her hair looks fabulous and suits her well. She can even STILL wear white jeans, for goodness sake!! 😮

I don't think those clunky black shoes are doing you any favors. They are a bit overpowering for your frame. Just not a fan. I think the white skiny jeans are a tad too skinny for what people are wearing this season. Agree, don't care for the white V neck tee. The red fits you much better. The black closed toe shoes are too wintry to wear now but then I'm not a fan of Mary Janes on anyone over 10. I don't like white sandals with the dark dress. See how the open toed Birkenstocks look with it. I wouldn't carry the brown woven bag with the outfit you paired with the COS jacket. Some sort of a crossbody would be sportier. The second pair of blue jeans fit better. I think they'd look good with a navy tee and the Birkenstocks. Everything else looked quite good, especially the wide leg white jeans.
