Stupidly Simple Actions To Streamline Your Photoshop Workflow
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Find out how to create simple actions in Photoshop to make the menu and keyboard functions you use all the time even faster and easier. I show how to make actions that will toggle on and off edge-snapping and rulers with a single click as well as clear guides, group all layers, and close all images without needing to go to a menu or type a shortcut. You can use the idea to make actions for any number of simple things you frequently do in Photoshop. TK8 Plugin users will also benefit from adding these actions to the TK8 My Actions module.
You can watch Tony Kuyper's tutorial on how the My Actions module works here: • TK8 My Actions plugin ...
And you can watch my tutorial on the My Actions module here: • NEW TK8 My Actions Module

Nice to see you back. Thanks for this video.
I have created a few actions and put them into the TK 8 My Actions panel. After watching this excellent tutorial, you gave me an idea on some additional actions to create and put into the My Actions panel. Thanks Sean!!!

Thanks, Mario. I had to do more lighting in here and also get creative with where I placed my desk, camera, lights and microphone, so I figure some folks might be interested in seeing how it went together. I'm waiting on some sound panels so probably after those come.
What a great video! So glad I found your channel. Many thanks, this was so helpful.

Cheers Dave! The new smaller space has been a project, but it’s coming together. Still need to work on sound quality.
Always wondered why I could not crop near the edge where I wanted to, thought it was a bug, who knew snap was the culprit. Appreciate all the other action tips with your concise "how to" Thanks Sean

You Bet! And if you didn't see Zack Stanton's comment, you can also temporarily turn off Snap just by holding down the Ctrl/Cmd key.
It's good to see your smiling face. Thanks for the lesson.
Love the new studio. Welcome back! See you in Olympic.

Your "Group All" was most helpful because I use keyboard shortcuts for the first two
Good stuff buddy. Always find useful things in your tutorials. Tip I picked up somewhere; holding down control while using the crop tool will disable snap.

Oh, Snap!! Haha. How cool is that. 25 years with Ps and I’m still learning things too. That’s one I didn’t know. I’ll have to see if it works with transform and move as well.
@AndrzejMuzaj
Жыл бұрын
@@SeanBagshaw It does work with transform, although it's also a modifier that can be used together with Alt / Option & Shift buttons. I also use it to prevent snapping, like Zack, and I find it more efficient this way. You can use snap or not within the same crop process and you always know which mode is on.

Hola Sean! Well done!!! I learnt about SNAP that was something driving me crazy. Cheers from BA (AR)

Good to have you back. Do you know if it is possible to record a few clicks in the TK Panel as an action? Does not seem to work?
@SeanBagshaw
Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Unfortunately, because Ps doesn’t know how to track what the TK panel is doing, you can’t use the panel when recording an action.
hi sean! i always watch your videos ! does TK8 have new update with the use of AI?

Hi Carlos! Not yet since that is still only available as a beta feature in Ps.
Great info Sean, but I'm getting an error making group all action. Like you, when I add a mask 'make' is added to the action steps, but when I run the action a box appears saying 'make command isn't available'. If I hit continue it runs ok, but wondered if you know why this is and a workaround? I'm on latest photoshop and TK9 (but not using TK for actions)

I don't recall the exact steps I used to make my group all action, but I do remember that it took some research and fiddling around to get it right. If you want, use the contact page on my website to send me a message and I can send you my group all action that you can deconstruct if you want...or just use it as is.
👏👏👏
Sean, How does it feel to be an empty Nester? Keep up he good work.

Hey Dean! It's quite excellent. Also great to see my kids out in the world making their way. But, to be fair, we have technically been "empty-nesters" for over two years, but only four months of those have actually been with no kids in the house somehow. Haha. We love it when they are home too.
I created an action to menu item 'Fade' which works from the actions panel but not TK8, I get error dialogue. All my other actions work from TK8. Any ideas? thanks
@SeanBagshaw
Жыл бұрын
I tried it and I can confirm that the Fade menu action doesn't work from the My Actions module for me either but no clue why. Must be something in the way that particular function works in Ps that it doesn't like it if it is called up from a plugin.
