As far as I’m concerned James has given people millions of hours of entertainment with the music he’s created over the years. He’s one of the few people that deserves whatever crazy excessive amount of money he has. In fact, whatever amount he has….he should probably have more!

Even if Metallica is well known and have been around for long popular music will always sell more in some way, be included in other parts of pop culture etc. And as he says he is giving away land rather than investing it in something, being with family and working on his cars when he dosn't do music. He got his demons etc but still living the dream by working with his beloved hobby.

Been a Metallica fan since 1988, pretty amazing career, considering they started with nothing, were completely broke and living in the studio during the recording of their first album 'Kill Em All' Kirk talks about eating bologna on hand sandwiches because that was all they could find in the studio to eat. They had no air play nor videos for their first 3 albums yet had a multitude of fans. James is probably the most down to earth rock star on the face of the planet, he use to quote "if we can make it anyone can"

@@jonny555ive damn dude. Why don't you guys just STFFUA already 40 fucking years. How more DEAD does a horse gotta be before you give it a rest on beating it?!? How many more different times & different ways do Dave, James, Lars have to tell the world publicly that they are past it and have moved on in a positive a way from the feud that is now nothing but water under the bridge anymore. So stop this... this diarrhea of the mouth war between the fans. * and without being biased from a Met. OR Meg. angle here, actually the guy who said James owns Dave would be more on the correct side and does NOT have it backwards. First, do some homework before you come on here stretching history 6 ways from Sunday... Don't sit there insisting Dave wrote the ENTIRE K 'em A album. We all know he didn't get proper credit for his significant contributions to some of the early songs but the rest of Metallica didn't just buy wigs, a couple cheap guitars & some guns in order to mug Mustaine in the park, Metallica made Metallica... At one brief point in the beginning, Dave was a member of the band & added music to songs they were writing together. When you hear riffs written by Dave as contributions to some of the songs, you'll see a bands name on the cover of the album AND on the cds, etc. themselves. That band is Metallica, It's not "Dave Mustaine & his sidekick helpers"! Sadly for DM, he does NOT own the rights to that. So... To compare who owns the more successful career & overall better professional musician lifestyle over the other is CLEARLY : (Drum 🥁 roll) James 🎉🎈. > Dave HETFIELD🥇 🏆 MUSTAINE 🎖️💸🏁💵💰🎸

He also spent part of his early life with way less than most, felt more loss than most, worked his butt off 1000x more than the average 9 to 5 wage expecting normie. Whichever way this cuts it, what he achieved is not impossible for most, working persistently and having some talent to go on, is available to most. But most won't.

A staple of 80s and 90s Rock and Roll. When the Seattle sound came along in the 90s the old stuff died a little. I remember when people said the 80s was the worst decade for music. Not anymore. The last two decades have been the worst. Hands down. With the exception of a few gems that are still around.

@@sergiosantiago2 Today, especially today, having the talent is barely enough anymore. It is expected of any professional in most industries to be very good at their craft, AND to be able to market their "thing" at a very good level. To your point. Back then, I think both Lars and James were those marketing minds. Especially running on alcoholic fuel, they became "very good marketers" of their music and it helped them tremendously. Talent / skill wise, Lars is actually low on the scale of drummers, he's admitted it himself. But that sense of rythm and willingness to push through made them overcome what missed from the talent dept.

His Automobile collection is astonishing and so impressive. What most people fail to realize and to actually become haters by what others have, is the extremely Hard Work it takes to get to that point. Touring for one thing is grueling traveling from town to town and the long hours on the road. All they choose to see is the finished product of people like James's wealth and success. It is extremely long hours in the studio, creating and bringing together just one song so all your bandmates are all on the same page is an endless journey and away from your family, to bring people you, the fans the final Album to you and your Stereo that you play ENDLESSLY...Over and over, again and again and again!! I'm an artist with my hands, Blessed from above, and will spend hours just on one drawing just to get it right, in my eyes. It's just an analogy of the hours that go by, and sometimes you don't even realize the clock is ticking. But when you visualize a creation then put it on paper and begin the process as it begins to take shape as you morph your vision and becomes reality, THAT'S ART and an ARTIST AT WORK. Never hate someone of what they have because you don't, instead, admire their work and the love behind that work and what it took to get there!! The Passion and love the Artist has to BRING YOU the enjoyment you get to have when it's finally completed. Be Safe and Rock Hard my Friends. YOU are All a Blessing in this Life we All Share!!!! Thank You ALL for your Contributions!!!🤘🏻

Oh no! James Hetfield owns expensive stuff! You mean, like any other big star out there (no matter the art form)?? Whodathunk. The man was raised in a cult that rejected modern medicine, lost his mother to cancer when he was 15 because she refused treatment and insisted on praying her cancer away. In the beginnings of Metallica, they ate cans of Chunky soups and slept on studio floors. He's had his hand burned badly enough that no one thought he's play guitar again - he does, but it still hurts when he plays. He has severe abandonment issues from his childhood, and fights alcoholism. He works his ass off and is considered one of the best rhythm guitarists out there. But hey, let's gang up on him because he earned money with his art, and buys stuff. Would you be happier if he lived in a shitty appartment and hoarded his money like a miser? Anyone of us would probably do the same thing he does. Some people, I swear 🙄🙄

Well deserved. I have followed this band from the beginning. I remember seeing them in '94 & them doing an extra tour before going into the studio( the summer shit tour😂) They have lived on the road for decades with a non-stop work ethic. When someone does get this wealthy they have to spend it on things normal folks would consider insane ( preferably on assets) and be generous. If they don't then the government will find ways to bleed it from them. Good for James and the rest of the band. They are all a true rags to riches story and are living the dream.

If you have the money you can spend it on anything you want. Me, I would have spent it all on guitars and stuff, vinil collections, etc. Cause music is what I love. Cars, mmmm.. Not for me. Oh and chicks and booze haha

Hahaha, I saw the thumbnail photo of James and Kim Kardashian and admit it got me. I thought to myself, WTF? but it was intriguing, in a strange, train-wreck kind of way. LOL, I guess I'll have to watch the video now even though there is no "KarField" or "KimJames."

Get your facts straight. James and family lived in at least two different Bay Area homes after selling the Novato home. The first was San Rafael and then a home in Ross. He still has Rocking H Ranch in San Rafael.
