DailyDrivenExotics Daemon I love you guys but it’s time to learn recovery, people die every year from shit like that. First time you weren’t able to use your winch I said find out where the remote is and go to 4-Wheel Parts and get some proper recovery gear. Spend some time and watch recovery videos and please search for ones where people die from winch cable or chain going through windshields, you will never jerk on a cable like that again after seeing that. You also have full locking diffs in that thing, he showed you how to engage them on the other hummer when you were at August. Would love to do some wheeling with you guys some time in my Jeep on the island or the mainland. Stay safe

I agree he did it wrong but that might be because he doesn’t know where the controls for the winch are, which is probably why he has the cable draped on the hood of the H1 since the previous episode when the Jeep got stuck.

I was just thinking he needs some max trax, a snatchblock or 2, a synthetic winch cable... hook up the winch and find the controller!(get a cordless) a nice tow strap , a few d rings or soft tow rings and a highlift jack

out of 98% of vehicles an h1 is one that will take the abuse forsure not saying it wont eventually break but it will take allot longer than any normal vehicle i had a chevy with the same motor thing was freaking bulletproof

tires at full pressure using a winch cable as a recovery strap basically a recipe for injury, please go off road with someone that is educated so someone dosen't get hurt or killed.

You snapped it because you were using it as a tow strap. not a steady increasing load, but with quick sharp pulls

Very lucky that it didn't go through the front windshield and hit him in the face. They should never try to natch with a cable to begin with. They should have put one of those floor mats on the cable. lol. A winch cable is made for a steady pull like they would have if they just hooked the winch to something and let the winch do the pulling. I've seen a winch hook go through a windshield and out the rear window of a guys mega cab Ram.

No winch in the back these guys are to dumb to even buy a tow strap

A lift and tires really need to come standard with a strap and D rings provided so these city folk can be prepared without having to use their brains.

Winches have controllers to pull it in and out

And this is what happens when people with no off road knowledge go off-roading haha. Still do it for the views

Always atleast put a jacket on the center of the winch 🤦🏼‍♂️

Tow cable or tow strap is for towing. Not for recovery. Look into Bubba Ropes. They are recovery straps designed for stretching/pulling.

As a Winnipeger, getting stuck in snow is a way of life here in the winter. As I watched this I was struck by how you kept trying to pull the Hummer frontwards through the snow instead of pulling it backwards out the way it went in. BC people and their lack of snow experience is fun to watch. If you had a crew of Winnipeggers with you, we'd a had that Hummer out in minutes. No lies. I also was interested in that nose Go Pro for those POV shots from Damon, very kool.

You don’t tug with a winch, you tug with a tow strap🤦🏻‍♂️ So many errors in these videos that KILL offroaders every weekend.

I did the same thing but with the Range Rover (the big one, not the Sport version) but I had snow tires. That thing would crawl over deep snow like there was no tomorrow. Your HummA looks great. It has huge grooves on the tires and I'm surprised that it won't regain traction.

I love how you guys dont know proper terrain driving but still goes all out and just have fun! Kudos! Tip is that you read up on how to properly operate a winch (before you get yourself hurt, those things are scary), get yourself a shovel, an axe and a real towstrap for those situations! Keep up the amazing content DDE!

I had a Jeep soft top year round in Saskatchewan, northern Ontario, and in Quebec, and vaseline works wonders on the zippers. It keeps the zipper and the surrounding materials from drying out....and lubricates the zipper for easier zipping.

Spinning holes like that will only make it more slippery. Never spin like that when stuck, just makes the snow become ice! Obviously not that used to snow!

Proof money can't buy brains, I love what you do but seriously a winch is super simple to use and you messed it up.

Fun stuff but here are some pro tips from people who use them for what they were designed for: 1) Use tire deflation. It's your best friend for getting more traction in low traction environments. 2) If you're going to get into off road shenanigans invest in some Maxtrax (save you a ton of headache getting out when you get stuck) 3) learn about your lockers. You can get into some epic places using lockers. Have a blast! You've barely scratched the surface of the kind of shenanigans you can get into this epic vehicle!

The Hummer is awesome great addition to channel. I can see artic camo wrap though..👍👍👍

Why weren't the axles locked? Don't all H1's have that ability?

It has got something as torque sensing diff, both wheels need some load to lock up that diff.

Guess you have to know what you're doing. Some of the newer ones did have electric lockers.

Why would you try pillibgthe h1 over the snow bank? Pull it from the back not the front

brake-throttle modulation will send all power to the wheel that has the most traction. my buddy had the same model H1 but in red and thats how we used to get it out of just about anything.

Those rims have that function. But I don't think they know how to use that yet they don't know how to actually use the winch yet. Edit. Those rims have the capability to do it I actually don't think they have it on them currently.

@@bostonbmx6490 thank you for your service, the Humvee platform is an amazing platform. most aftermarket wheels have adapters for that style inflation system it just is something people overlook I guess if you don't ever think you're going to need to deflate and re-inflate it makes sense not to hook it up.

Those always leak, huge pain

Bro just a little tip . If you are pulling with a kinetic rope or cable always lay a towel half way over the cable. The forces are massive and if it snaps you have the danger of it coming through the window and ruining your pretty face . The towel adds weight and aims the rope towards the floor but can also slow the cable speed down if it snaps.

The hummer H1 Diffs are auto locking. What you need todo is apply a bit of breaking and the torque sensitive diffs will lock together. I am not sure if any other vehicle does this but I know Honda atvs have a similar set up. Apply a bit of brake will let you crawl out.

You need a Mil-Spec Automotive Hummer. They’re the first company that have managed to un-shitbox a Hummer, you can also switch them to RWD 😏.

Morgan ODonnell .... completely agree, always cringe when I see people using a winch as a snatch strap. hell i bet they could get bubba rope or one of the likes to sponsor a video with a snatch strap/rope demo. That and I believe almost all hummers come with lsds or lockers. A little brake tapping to engage the older worn out lsds and all 4 wheels locked up may have helped.

I am aware that the H1 is basically a military vehicle and it can take a lot of beating. But it’s really unnecessary to rev the shit out of a Diesel engine. Completely wrong way to get out of a situation like that. When it comes to driving off road you use minimal throttle, slow and easy does it. It’s of course Damon’s property and he is allowed to used it how he desire, but he is really shortening the life of that H1. It will cost him a lot to repairs. I feel bad for the future owner(s), and the chances of it becoming a runaway diesel are higher. The amount of wear, tear and stress he puts on that turbo by pushing the RPM’s up to the limit. Also you get maximum Torque on lower RPM’s and Horsepower on high RPM.

@@mexicanspec I agree! a clear path and in some instances as little as 4 inches of ground clearance is enough to get a car out of snow. Some people just don't get it how important it also is to learn how a car behaves offroad. I bet Damon doesn't even know what a locking differential is.

@@MrDngrsdave This one has been engine swapped for a diesel from one of the main car manufacturers( forgot which one) also has a turbo upgrade and the whole interior has been went through and replaced. Also I looked found one in Australia for 70k but its just a h1 body its on some bs frame, and another one for 50k but it looks straight from a war zone i.e trash interior and the usual from a military hummmer, the decent ones were 80k +.

Go to strandman please and H1 and jeep with strandie! ❤

@dde so with the hummer you should have the option to deflate the tires a bit to help with traction if you ever get stuck. Then reinflate the tires back up. But not sure if those after market rims have that option also? Great video once again guys. Keep up the great work 👍👍👍
