the water wasnt moving too fast but i felt the water pushing my truck a little and i decided i wasnt worth losing my truck over it i guess you could say i lost my nerve lol

These are ideal conditions for crossing flooded roads. Shallow, clear standing water or shallow, clear, slow flowing water are absolutely fine to cross in most cases. You can see the road, so you know it's there and hasn't been washed away. It's not deep enough to dampen the carpet let alone drown the engine, and it's not flowing fast enough to carry the car away. Just go slow, put it in 4wd if possible and pay careful attention. Keep to the side the water is flowing from as that's less likely to have sucked away the base beneath the road and collapse from underneath you, and if you do start getting swept away you have time to react.

Where was this? This looks like either Day County or Marshall County in South Dakota. There were some bad years where at least 80% of Day County and at least 65% of Marshall County were under water. All the sloughs and Coulees were full and overflowing.

why cant americans forbie, fuck me seen a whole let less of this in australia with complete flooded roads and riving crossing n with a forbie we go over em cause we gotta. you leave how to drive it, watch the river, your car, the road watch everything and cross the thing. the town i grew up there was 1 bridge to connect the 2 sides and it flooded every 2-3 years. what'd we do, we crossed it. what i'm saying is always be safe and always know what your car can handle but if you car can handle it like these ones could why would you not its half the fun of having a forbie
