Such an extraordinarily obscene artefact you have there. The half noble really was a valuable coin in its prime time and must've felt extraordinary pulling something out that no one has touched in hundreds of years, and it's gold too!

Excellent work!! I use the Deus ll, the first XP product Ive used on a regular basis, I was a huge fan of the Minelab products but have become very comfortable with the Deus ll the more I use it. One of my digging buddies is a huge XP fan, he has the Deus l and ll and plays with the programs quite a bit and I think by doing so screws himself out of a lot of good targets. For example, during the winter when the fields were all frozen, we hit a beach in New Hampshire, he had just made a “ custom beach program” and was busy using it when I came across a 24” 18k gold necklace, obvious signal for my equinox, he wanted to see what the signal would be on his new program and it didn’t even detect it, really weird. Anyway, after I purchased my Deus ll I decided not to mess with any of the stock programs, the only changes I’ve made are to reactivity, iron volume ( I like to hear he iron) and set it on square tones. For the fields we hunt here in New England, the deepest targets are 10”-12” so the general program is plenty capable of finding those. My buddy will argue with me about it but I tell him the programs are the ones that the XP engineers thought were good enough to install in the original software so in my mind, they must be pretty good, but he still spends endless hours tinkering with home made programs that don’t do any better than the stock programs. Every year, four of us travel to Virginia to hunt a civil war battlefield I have permission to and a local detector shop owner shared a “ deep program”, that’s the only custom program I use, it is outstanding for picking up bullets, buttons and other smalls at depths up to 14”. I’ll post the program here for you and perhaps you could share one that works well for you. Disc 5.0 Sensitivity 95 Reactivity 1 Iron 1 Audio 4 Notch 0 Silencer 0 Bottle caps 2 All done off the deep program as a base program The first time I used the program I was able to find 160 year old musket and revolver percussion caps at 6-8” which I though was pretty good and artillery fragments the size of a big walnut at 18”. This battlefield was the front line of the battle of Cold Harbor for 12 days so the amount of period iron is unbelievable. Anyway, I’m a new sub and love he channel, keep at it!! Cheers

A spectacular gold find. See, Alexander, as I have said to you previously, Tasci really is a good luck charm. The story behind a precious coin ending up in a reasonably remote field would be amazing. Perhaps a Roman aureus is a future possibility but only if Tasci is with you.

Great video Alex with some stunning finds. I actually go detecting with the guy who found that Henry gold penny in Devon and I have the plaque that was made with a replica of the coin inside it. I recall seeing a video where the guy found a crumpled gold coin and was told the name of another guy who straightens them out without any damage, would be well worth having the sortd. I was against the latest software version 1.1 because I dug more iron than before but I just needed to listen for it the iron grunt is there just got to tune in to it, normally sensi ft for me tweaked. Thank you for the videos. Dan

@@HolzHammerSagas yes I’m happy with it although I found some cracking stuff on 0.71 too sensi ft you hear everything it’s too noisy for some. My brother has my tweaked programme on his but he has started liking and using fast prog 4 (I think) he thinks it’s very good.i very rarely dig iron now but when I started on it I was not happy just remember to check it from all angles , I know u do t use numbers but if u did and there’s any zeros over the main signal I leave as normally junk, that was a bit of a long reply !!! My apologies!

I do a lot in North Wales - hard work but I have still found a denarius and a gold coin in those quite fields... plenty went on there so keep trying...!
