Perfect kitty names!

I would love a list of names that have opposite origin stories or vibes to their meanings. For example, the name Serafina originates from a story of the highest order of angels(the Seraphine angels), but it means fiery. Something about the two conflicting each other makes me think of such a warrior woman! I’m not sure how many names could go on this list, but I think it would interesting!

I love the name Olivine I would use it as a Fictional Romantic city name where you can see the stars at night and they produce olives.

Tawny is top of our list for this baby and I’ve never came across it in any name lists until now! I can just imagine calling our little girl our little owl 🦉 💖

Many decades ago I heard the beautiful name Graham Stirling. At the time, the meaning of Graham was given as "the gray home," although I've learned since it is also given as a gravel homestead. I like that as well, as it makes me think of a beautiful stone home. So there's the soft color gray and then Stirling casts silver sparkle into the name. I was in heaven.

Roux is also a butter & flour mix to make a white sauce, or did I spell that wrong. Not a name I’d choose. Sandy is a no, IMO.

I had a male cat growing up called Sandy. He was a ginger tabby. Sandy Arthur was his full name (because my Mum was a name lover and gave all our pets middle names!) 😅

Roux definitely fits this list best but I do think botanical Rue totally works here too. I feel like a lot of people like Coco for the connection to Coco Chanel, but it's actually the main reason I just can't fall in love with it. Midori has always been one of my favorite Japanese names! A friend in college had a solid white Persian with green eyes names Midori, she was such a gorgeous cat. And I actually knew a Tawny growing up! She was so cool and spunky, a little bit of a tomboy, and so that's the vibe it's always given me. I'm honestly so surprised Sable isn't more popular with love for Mabel, Sybil, and Sadie on the rise. I love Obsidian! I have a soft spot for long boy names and doubly love gem or flower names for boys. Olivine is such a nice variation, I've seen it a few times but don't know any personally. Great alternative to Olivia. I just love the sound of longer -ine/-een names- they just sound so elegant to me. Ochre is very cool. Always love and O name, and this feels very similar to Oak/Oakley but not so trendy. Golda/Gilda is so fun and I think I'd nice for those who may not want a nickname as the formal given name (Marigold too!)

Roux flour + butter used for cooking - the French word for street and the hunger games character are both 'Rue'. Midori is also a melon-flavoured liqueur (though I suppose that tracks, as it is a luminescent green colour)

Golda, absolutely love it!

My late husband had Forrest as a middle name. He was a strong, dependable man. Also the nicest ever

Love this style of names! Sable, Forest, and Saffron have been on my list for years. Copper makes me think of The Fox and the Hound. Golda is the mother on Fiddler in the Roof I believe.

Tawney has a rocker/bad girl vibe to me because there was an actress in America named Tawney Kitaen who was most famous for featuring in heavy metal music videos in the 1980s.

for my practical at uni, i worked at a primary’s school at the beginning of this year - and of COURSE being obsessed with names as i am, the first thing i checked when i was assigned the grade 2 class, were their names. some were absolutely lovely but one stood out that i couldn’t not share 🤪 her name is Daisie Golden Princess! i mean hats off to her parents 😅

Golda Meir is who comes to mind for me! What a great list! Roux is SO cute! I think Hannah Michalak's "Rufus" inspired a whole movement of British KZreadrs with plays on Ru, Roux, Roo - and now Jessica Kelgreen-Fozard and her wife Claudia's new baby Rupert too, and Zoella, as you mentioned. I love warm earthy tones so much, my home is gonna be 100% those colours! Sable is a character from Animal Crossing (I’m a fan if you couldn’t tell!) she is the older sister of Mabel, and they run the Able Sisters tailor shop! I think they are hedgehogs or echidnas. Sable is a really sweet, shy character and Mabel is cheerful and confident

Hi SJ can you please do a list for easy to say and spell names, short and sweet and preferably not too out there.. . I am not pregnant but we are hoping to be in about 18 months or so and I know that I would like the names locked in before all the hormones get in the way! Tawny is my favorite from your list. It's cute and for some reason reminds me of a little fawn. I actually also really like the name Faun. Other names that would fit this list are Sienna, Marigold, Autumn, Ember, and Sage.

Obi, Sid, Dion - Obsidian is great you're right! Not for me but would love to know someone has used it!

Saffron has been on my list since I was a teenager!

My friend’s daughter is Marigold nicknamed Goldie! I love that nickname and Golda is so interesting! And Olivine is on my list for middle names. My daughter also has a gemstone middle name!

The Rue in Hunger games was named after a wildflower, the wildflower is spelled R-u-e. Also Sandy is a relatively common name for boys, notably most Sandys' are legally called Alexander but still it's not as feminine as you would think

Forrest! I kept wondering if you were going to reveal which middle name you chose. I’ve always loved Saffy from AbFab. Tawny Kitaen is strongly associated with that name in the States.

Yes Freddie is Fredrik but Finn is just Finn. Evelina is swedish version of Evelyn; it's Henrik's cousins wife's name - as soon as I heard it I fell in love and maybe 7 years later have our Evelina. Blossom was a guilty pleasure name Henrik wouldn't have for a 1st name! I'd love more in my dreams but happy with 3 xxxx

We have a Goldie. We got her as a rescue when she was fifteen months old. She is now 5 years old. She is a Great Pyrenees yellow lab mix. She's a big fluffy girl. Her whole name is Goldie Honey Butter! Lol

I love Sandy, it’s what I want to call my first boy (not pregnant yet) but as a nickname for Anders 🧡

Midori is pronounced ME-doe-ri but Japanese is nuanced the “ri” is kind of a “lee” and “ri” sound mixed together. 💗 Love your videos

Roux is also the name for when you mix flour and butter together to start a sauce. Which isn’t a bad thing but thought I’d put it out there 🥰

In Zimbabwe we have Sable antelope, they are stunning majestic animals!

I named my pup Saffron Grey! I am absolutely obsessed with her name

My cat's name is Rue after the herb, but part of me wishes I used Roux as the spelling cause it's so pretty. I name all my cats after spices, and Saffron will be high on the next cat's list. My cousin just got a dog and named him Copper cause he's totally copper-colored! A lot of people assume we say Cooper though. I don't think that would happen for a girl. I like Obie for Obsidian! How cute! My neighbor just had an Olivia because she wanted the nickname Olive and I WISH I suggested to her Olivine!
