    Same honestly. This guy has been my favorite 2hander for the longest ever since I discovered him.

    Same here, I've watched so many videos of him since I saw him bowl for the first time. There was just something unique about him that drew me in.

    I've been in tournaments where Zach was bowling in the St. Louis area. He is really consistent. Teams up with Kyle Sherman a lot.

    A change I made to my game was using less arms and swinging my shoulders more because I throw the ball better with a straight elbow than a bent one.

    Nice! Shoulders are huge in the two handed game for sure!

    Instead of the hop step, try doing a passthrough step, which would give you a later timing--generate more speed and power.

    I've actually tried eliminating the hop step before and it didn't work out too well for me. Thanks for the suggestion!

    I've changed tons based off just what I saw from Simonsen in terms of his body use and Wilkins in the decisiveness of his hip open, power step and slide. Removed a lot of the extras.

    Excellent! Fewer moving parts, the more repeatable it becomes!

    Another thing I meant to ask about, does it harm your consistency personally with it being far left of your head at the back of the swing? Maybe I'm deceived but it kinda looks like a lot of two handers get their swing to the inside of their head at the backswing. I've been taking videos and it has been helping so that's also a good tip! Thank Big Sky!

    It depends on how far to the inside of your head you get honestly. The two handed game naturally forces everything in that direction because we are holding onto an object with both hands. You are correct that many two handers do this. I'm actually doing some research for a future video about this subject and I think it's going to open alot of eyes.

    is there any difference in how you hold the ball at the start? Like if the ball is at your chest or at your hips when you are in your initial position?

    I try to keep the ball in front of my hips. As far as height, I try to stay relaxed so I don't really hold the ball higher than my belly button.

    I actually asked Zach on Instagram and he and I are the same height standing at 5’5. So if he can get 18 MPH through the pins then we should be able to too!

    would going to a lighter ball create more speed or would the lighter ball create less power at the pins or does it even matter with your skill level

  • @BigSkyBowler

    @BigSkyBowler

    Yes a lighter ball would create more speed. However, with bowling balls, once you drop below 14 lbs the core dynamics change drastically and you would be sacrificing hitting power. Not only that, if your ball is too light it can create issues with your physical game and using too much muscle. Currently, I throw 14 lbs.

    See, 5 steps can still do the speed :). I was going to try to get ballspeed up from same approach as well since talking to you about 2 feet back yesterday. The late swing sounds like it could be the path to take as it should get your tempo quicker.

    does wearing sweatshirts and different clothing change your freedom to move vs what you wear when your bowling in tournaments

  • @BigSkyBowler

    @BigSkyBowler

    Definitely. Restrictive clothing can restrict range of motion as a two hander. I always try to wear loose slacks and a jersey that's loose fit during tournaments.
