Mechanical engineers are not afraid to push boundaries. They bring together creativity and design with scientific knowledge to test the limits of what is possible. You have the flexibility to transfer to any of our five mechanical engineering courses up until the end of your second year. This means you can take your degree in a direction that best suits your ambitions. By choosing to take a placement year, you’ll get to put your theory into practice and earn a wage while you work alongside professional engineers.
When you graduate, you’ll have the technical leadership, initiative and interpersonal skills to pursue a professional career in engineering. You could be making your impact on the world by designing low-carbon vehicles, testing new materials, advancing biomedical science or developing the aircraft of the future.
